I'll have to whine and moan again.

I cannot log into Dedektif Cingöt's account. I haven't been able to do so for 5 days.

I tried every possible way of communication: Bug report, PM to either Ben or SS (cannot remember which), and email to help@hypoware.com.

I can wait for however long it needs to take to get it back. That's not the problem. All I am asking for is a response that would acknowledge me that the administration knows about it and will deal with it. Please, that's all I am asking.

Eden,
Just a thought, when Ben did that update recently, there was a bug that screwed with some symbols. Since you have the unique Character in your name, I did a quick search for your detective and he doesn't exist. Then I looked for an old post from Dedektif Cingot's. The name now associated with those posts is: http://noir.playsleuth.com/detective/detective.spy?id=910734

I don't know how to make all those symbols. I bet if you could, you'd be able to log on, unless your password also had the character issue. You might also pass that link along to Admin.

Nice detective work Catherine, -you could probably copy and paste the symbols?

It couldn't hurt to try.

ö = öt

That's how the problematic letter translates as. Here's a timeline of things which happened that seem related:

1. Server down
2. Server on. Dedektif Cingöt's no longer legible. But I can log in as always.
3. I cleared my caches upon suggestion.
4. Had a browser update right after this. So I had no chance to check out if I'd be having the same problem had I not had an update.
5. After the cache removal and update, I could no longer log in.

And that applies to Google Chrome, Explorer. I think I don't need to check out Opera or Safari, etc to rule out browsers.

These caches. Do they change anything in the registry, that and many other things I don't know. But I mentioned all this in my report.

Maybe it has to do with my computer? But they have to tell me so, so that I could get another subscription or just move on...

Well the PM wasn't to me, but I thought I had resolved this through Ms Helen...

At the moment for whatever reason, and assume it's the server migration: your detective name looks like this: Dedektif Cingöt.

Using the above I can search and find your Detective. So I suspect if you copy paste that into the log-in screen it will work.

Now IF you have screwy symbols in your password, just do a 'I forgot my password' and it should send to your email account the password as the gamne server currently sees it.

Thank you Squirrel. As you can see, it worked.

This is so strange because I tried doing that a couple of times before and it didn't work back then. So I never suspected it. Sorry. I must have tried logging in with the symbols before the cache incident. Just can't remember.

(I actually sent you a PM on June 7th, by the way - as Eden, of course. You probably accidentally clicked it and then never got the chance to see it was there. )

Doh, when you PM'd me Squirrel I thought you meant you had PM'd Eden with that info. I must have had a massive case of baby brain that day.

Please accept my apologies Eden I had thought Squirrel had sent you that information. I am glad it is working for you now though.
