I recently found an awesome party/social game called "The Resistance" that my friends and I love to play. The premise is very similar to games like "mafia" and "werewolf"; you have a group of players, in which some of them are working against the group and have knowledge the others don't.

In "The Resistance", you are basically members of an underground organization known as "The Resistance" attempting to destroy the establishment. However, among you there are counter-agents, or "Imperial Spies" who are working to sabotage your efforts. The spies know who they are, as well as who else is a spy, but will for all intents and purposes appear to be working toward the goals of the Resistance.

The game takes place over a series of 5 "missions". The Resistance is trying to complete 3 missions successfully, while the spies are attempting to sabotage 3 missions. First one to 3 wins.

Now the last one...

Mission 5, Team 1 (proposed by Cekuray)
Cekuray
Molly Maltese
nicnic
Jason Arends
Danny Mack

Yes votes: Cekuray, Danny Mack, Jason Arends, Molly Maltese, Illicit
No votes: M. Lacrimosa, Nicnic, Special K

The last mission has to be made up of all 5 Resistance members. So if you are not Resistance, and you are not on this mission, you know it is going to fail.

This is not how the votes came out. I voted "No" after Mission 4 and how it was playing out. But I didn't say anything because I wanted to see what was going to happen with this vote.

Marc voted No to the mission. If he is Resistance, he was not on this mission and it makes sense for him to vote No.

Special K voted No to this mission. Same reasoning applies.

Why didn't Illicit vote No? She wasn't on it. If it was made up of all Resistance members, she should have still voted No. She could be doing it to throw us off. Or she could be flipping a coin as I said earlier. But the three people who were not on this mission, should have voted No to it. But like I said, it is highly possible that Illicit voted Yes only to trip us up. But I'm really beginning to have doubts that we were right about Jason.

At this point we just have to go with something. Either Jason, Illicit, and Molly are spies or Special K, Illicit, and Marc are spies.

Both Jason and Molly have made extremely weird moves in the game. Marc did, but he was also the very first person to have to go and didn't know anything about the game. Jason and Molly made weird moves that if they had been paying attention for three minutes and they actually are Resistance, they would not have done. And nothing Special K has done is inconsistent with her story. Of course she could just be playing it this way as a spy, but everything she's done has been completely consistent.

And if anyone read that whole thing, you get a prize.

Nic, to quote you:

"Jason and Molly made weird moves that if they had been paying attention for three minutes and they actually are Resistance, they would not have done. " i cant speak for molly but we both know i have focusing problems when it comes to the conspiracy theories on this thread.

Again i say if you put biggie on the team she WILL fail the mission.

THANK YOU! I've been trying to tell you people this all week :)

And Cek, to quote you: Special K also seemed suspicious with some of her threads, in one of them admitting she is a spy and admitting she knows the other two names

WHEN in god's name did I admit to being a spy? That's the second time you've mentioned that and it never happened. I only said that I knew for sure who two of the spies are (Jason for bombing the first mission, and Illicit for lying about his allegiance) and at that time, I only suspected a third person (who was Molly based on her spotlight card only, it wasn't until later that I was sure when she started defending Jason and (tacitly) Illicit, and when she gave Jason the Strong Leader card).

I really hope you all vote to put my proposed team through, because its the only way Resistance will win. Trust me, I'm a doctor!

Jason, then why did you vote Yes to Mission 3 that had Special K on it when you supposedly know she is a spy? Why would you do that?

OMG. I just had another revelation.

One thing that was bothering me was that if Illicit and Jason were both spies, why would Illicit ask to see Jason's identity knowing how dangerous that was because if she lied and said he was Resistance, then we figured out Jason, Illicit would be busted too. What if Illicit HAD to choose a spy because she is nestled in between both Jason and Molly. And if all three of them are spies, she had no choice.

OK. Back to cooking.

And all these theories assuming that nobody is talking privately with nobody. But what if? Especially the three little piggies... :D
