I recently found an awesome party/social game called "The Resistance" that my friends and I love to play. The premise is very similar to games like "mafia" and "werewolf"; you have a group of players, in which some of them are working against the group and have knowledge the others don't.

In "The Resistance", you are basically members of an underground organization known as "The Resistance" attempting to destroy the establishment. However, among you there are counter-agents, or "Imperial Spies" who are working to sabotage your efforts. The spies know who they are, as well as who else is a spy, but will for all intents and purposes appear to be working toward the goals of the Resistance.

The game takes place over a series of 5 "missions". The Resistance is trying to complete 3 missions successfully, while the spies are attempting to sabotage 3 missions. First one to 3 wins.

MISSION RESULT:

Nicnic, Cekuray, Jason Arends and Illicit proceeded with the mission as planned. A scrambled communication was sent to the Resistance cell, warning them of the impending raid. After which, the team proceeded south to rendezvous with the other cell's leaders to work out an evacuation and demolition plan.

The team arrived late to the rendezvous due to bad weather. It's fortunate they had, for if they had arrived on time, they would have been ambushed on all sides by Imperial forces. The team watched in distant cover as Imperial guards corralled the cell's leaders into an awaiting armored vehicle. Realizing the plan was foiled, they returned to home base.

Upon investigation, a trace of an anonymous communication was discovered. It contained all the information of the scrambled message sent to the southern cell, including information about the planned rendezvous. It was sent to a known Imperial intelligence officer. It came from a central computer system that anyone could have accessed, but only 4 people knew the details of the encrypted communication before it was sent... the 4 members of the team.

MISSION 3 IS A FAILURE! (Spies lead 2-1)
???-SUCCESS
???-SUCCESS
???-SUCCESS
???-SABOTAGE

You are now free to discuss this result, as I set up the fourth mission in the game. Will post details later today.

>:O WHOA WHOA WHOA!

Suddenly I'm very suspicious of Nicnic, who insisted on using the same team and then told us who the spy would be in case it failed...but is it Illicit, or is she a scapegoat for someone else?

Oh bother. I'm not convinced on the innocence of anyone now, and the spies are in the lead. :[

Molly, I said to use the same team because it passed last time. Which in my mind gave us a better chance of winning than picking a random team. And I've already explained over and over why I am confident that Jason is not a spy. And I trust Cek because he was the only one with me on the first mission to vote it down... and it failed because there was a spy on it.

I think Illicit is a spy. I think it's highly unlikely that Cek or Jason is a spy. And since we only had one fail I think it has to be Illicit. And some of her voting patterns have been strange and she has played this game a lot of times so we can't write it off to newbie confusion.

So now at least in my mind, Special K, Illicit and someone else is a spy.

So it has to be one of Marc, Molly, or Danny Mack.

Both Marc and Molly made bizarre decisions when they were leaders. I'm leaning towards Marc. Danny Mack is up next for a mission proposal. We'll see who she gives special powers to.

And for a mission this time, the spies have to have TWO Sabotage votes to fail it. So if we can get a team with four Resistance members on it, we will win.

Three of them in my mind are me, Cek, and Jason.

Why would fingers be pointed at me? LOL. What have I done that is suspicious? You mean like trying to convince everyone to vote down the first mission - which actually failed? And if I'm the spy, that means Special K is a spy because Jason and Illict are clean. And I have consistently tried to get people to vote AGAINST missions Special K is on.

Being suspicious of me makes about as much sense as anything else that has happened thus far. :-P

Also, I think the last spy has to be one of Marc or Danny because Special K said she thought they were Resistance and she knows who the spies are. I think Molly may be doing strange things because she doesn't like to play linear or something.

Hm. You may be right, I guess you would only pick that team again if you knew something that we didn't and since that is both a.) a huge gamble and b. ) very unlikely due to no information sharing outside the game, its inconclusive.

BAH! Haha.

I picked the team again because it passed the first time it went. And actually I didn't pick it, Jason did. LOL
