I recently found an awesome party/social game called "The Resistance" that my friends and I love to play. The premise is very similar to games like "mafia" and "werewolf"; you have a group of players, in which some of them are working against the group and have knowledge the others don't.

In "The Resistance", you are basically members of an underground organization known as "The Resistance" attempting to destroy the establishment. However, among you there are counter-agents, or "Imperial Spies" who are working to sabotage your efforts. The spies know who they are, as well as who else is a spy, but will for all intents and purposes appear to be working toward the goals of the Resistance.

The game takes place over a series of 5 "missions". The Resistance is trying to complete 3 missions successfully, while the spies are attempting to sabotage 3 missions. First one to 3 wins.

In the interest of giving everyone information to work with, I should have probably posted what the 5 mission specs will be earlier. So, here they are:

Mission 1 - 3 team members
Mission 2 - 4 team members
Mission 3 - 4 team members
Mission 4 - 5 team members*
Mission 5 - 5 team members

*-this is a special mission; this mission will succeed unless TWO "Sabotage" actions are performed! In other words, even if a spy sabotages Mission 4, it will succeed and the Resistance will win the round. But if 2 (or more) spies sabotage it, the mission fails.

I really need to read these properly, I thought it was first to 5 but it's first to three. Thanks K :)

The abilities are being chosen at random from a deck of ability cards. The mission specs are based on the number of players, according to the rules of the tabletop game this is based on.

From the first mission analyzing I say that we know for sure 3 Resistance operatives and one spy: RO are nicnic (voted NO to the mission), Jason (proved by ability played) and myself (also voted NO to the mission, knowing the scams M. Lacrimosa pulled with that mission). :D The spy is Special K, for sure (Jason was obliged to vote SUCCESS, Molly was ''forced'' to vote SUCCESS, being in the SPOTLIGHT, the only player sabotaging being, logically Special K). Plus, she underlined in a previous post that JASON IS A FILTHY SPY, trying to shift the attention from her. That remains with 4 people which we have to figure out their intentions and 2 more spies to prove. The Resistance can afford only one more failed mission.

CLARIFICATION: There are 5 missions, so whichever "side" wins 3 missions first wins the game.

First mission is essentially factfinding. We were lucky with some of the special cards that came up that allowed us to see allegience and card played early. Stay the course!
