I recently found an awesome party/social game called "The Resistance" that my friends and I love to play. The premise is very similar to games like "mafia" and "werewolf"; you have a group of players, in which some of them are working against the group and have knowledge the others don't.

In "The Resistance", you are basically members of an underground organization known as "The Resistance" attempting to destroy the establishment. However, among you there are counter-agents, or "Imperial Spies" who are working to sabotage your efforts. The spies know who they are, as well as who else is a spy, but will for all intents and purposes appear to be working toward the goals of the Resistance.

The game takes place over a series of 5 "missions". The Resistance is trying to complete 3 missions successfully, while the spies are attempting to sabotage 3 missions. First one to 3 wins.

Once a mission team is approved, those players will PM me their choice of action during that mission. Resistance players will ALWAYS choose to have the mission succeed by sending "Success", while spies have a choice: they can either elect to have the mission succeed (to throw off suspicion), or they can "Sabotage" the mission.
IF ANY PLAYER ON A TEAM SABOTAGES A MISSION, THAT MISSION FAILS! (it only takes one "Sabotage" to fail a mission.)

Once the team members send me their actions, I will post the results of the mission. You will know if the mission succeeded or failed, and you will know what the actions were, but you will NOT know who chose what action; they will be revealed at random.

After the mission results, a new round starts with a new leader and so on and so forth until either 3 missions succeed or 3 missions fail.

ROLES:
In each round, the leader (the one selected at the beginning of the round) will be given a number of "role" abilities to distribute to the players. These abilities all have something to do with information-gathering, and I will list a few examples below:

"Keeping a close eye on you": The player who receives this can use it to find out what a team member has picked as their action (success or sabotage) during the mission. This info will come as a PM from me.

"Opinion maker": For the rest of the game, the person who receives this must vote first on any mission plans, and must do so on the message board rather than in a PM.

"Strong leager": The player who gets this can choose to "usurp" leadership from the current leader, but only if the current leader hasn't assigned roles or chosen a team yet.

The name of the game is information and MISinformation. The resistance is trying to figure out who the spies are, so that missions don't get sabotages. The spies are trying everything they can to avoid detection, so that they can be chosen and sabotage missions.

You may talk about ANYTHING on the message boards involving the game. However, if information comes to you from me in a PM, it is YOUR CHOICE what to do with that information. You can keep it to yourself, you can be honest, or you can lie.
YOU MAY NOT PM OTHER PLAYERS ABOUT THE GAME! All discussion must take place here in the message board so that everyone is privy to it. Spies can NOT talk privately about strategy! The only PMs sent regarding the game should be to or from me, as the game master.

I am now looking for interested players... post below if you would like to be involved in "The Resistance"! We need 5-10 players to get a game going.

Seems extremely complicated and I'm sure lends itself to hilarity in us figuring out what we are supposed to do.

I'm definitely in!!!

OK. This is the part that makes it all make sense:
YOU MAY NOT PM OTHER PLAYERS ABOUT THE GAME!

Before that part I didn't get it. :-)

OK, we have 5 so far, which is the minimum needed. So, I'll give it a few more hours, to see if anyone else wants to join (we can have as many as 10).

So far, we have:

Nicnic
Danny Mack
Cekuray
Molly Maltese
(and room for up to 5 more)
