The office door slammed against the wall with a bang, and papers swirled restlessly across the desks of the darkened room. He looked up from his bottle of gin, bleary eyes just registering the figure outlined in the doorway. It was tall, and from the cast of the hips and tucked in-waist silhouetted in the black trench, it was a woman. She stood on black stilettos, and a black snood concealed her hair from view as surely as the netted veil did her face.

"Who is that?" he asked nervously, squinting his eyes. There was a pause, and then the figure moved forward, legs, hips rolling smoothly in an unmistakable way. He paled; rearing back in the chair so that it almost fell. He righted it with a clatter, fingers shaking.

"A ghost?" he breathed, suddenly terrified. Was the moonshine bad? Giving him the jake- was he hallucinating? The black ensemble of the woman suddenly seemed more foreboding than chic. "You...I thought you were dead!"

She moved forward, just inches away from him in the dim lamplight. Slowly, black satin-clad hands lifted up, grasped the edge of the veil, and pulled it back. Her glossy red lips shone in a vulpine smirk in the light.

"I never die. Nine lives, you know." Molly Maltese breathed in her sotto voice. "I've been to the end of the world, my dear, and I've brought back the case to end all cases for you."

"And now..." Billings gave a wide smile as he opened the wooden box and turned it to face Riza. She barely suppressed a gasp. There in the box lay a golden ankh, radiant and sparkling as it was struck by the last rays of daylight.

"It's quite beautiful, Mr. Jackson," Riza breathed, momentarily captivated.

"Now there is the matter of the money, Miss Kane. I do believe that twenty thou—" Billings broke off. Riza was overcome with a sense of foreboding.

"You know, you look...familiar," he said softly, tilting his head to get a better look at Riza. "I never forget a face." His voice echoed in the great expanse of the room. Riza froze. Billings stared with knitted brows. Then a change crossed his features.

Riza grabbed the box out of Billings' arms and slammed the lid shut. Many things happened simultaneously. A woman screamed. Gunshots rang out. A cascade of glass rained down from above.

The indescribable ecstasy from the cocaine was nothing Zeo had ever felt before. Every nerve in his body felt so alive that his past existence seemed fictitious. It lasted only a few minutes, and Zeo already wanted another hit. Before he could realize his desires, the morphine kicked in. It calmed him right down. Like the other forms of Opium he took, the pain inside him was gone immediately. He was then hauled into a car and driven to the Museum. No, it was a Palace. With gigantic doors. They climbed up the hill to meet a brown fuzzy bear, with big goggle eyes. The bear seemed familiar, as if he should be hugging it, but when it looked at Zeo he shrank into a tiny ant. The bear was talking to a tree beside him, then two trees and the bear started moving to a large white cave, and Zeo followed them. One of the trees vomited a wooden box, and inside the box lived a dancing ginger bread man. The fuzzy bear suddenly strangled the ginger bread man and one of the trees whispered to him, "Zeo, start shooting!" so he fired at the ceiling. Candy rained down from above while someone was screaming. The bear ran away with the box with the ginger bread man so Zeo shot at the bear as well. The bear was jumping up and down...

Riza was aware of a sharp pain in her leg as she tried to abscond with the ankh. She jumped up and down in an attempt to steady herself as she fell over. On the ground, trying to see amidst the falling shards, she could make out Zeo standing there pointing a gun right at her, his facial expression an indication that he was blissfully unaware of what he was doing.

Riza felt a pain in her lower abdomen and immediately reached towards it. She tried to crawl away from the scene as fast as she could, taking the boxed ankh with her. A bullet whizzed loudly right over her left ear, and she yanked her head around in disbelief to see that Zeo had taken another shot at her. Bastard! Standing unsteadily, he grinned. There came a flash and the scraping of metal on metal as the gun was blasted out of his hand by another bullet.

Riza was unable to see where it had come from, but almost immediately a barrage of gunfire seemed to erupt from all sides. In that moment, hell broke loose. She saw Vulkie and Molly running in her direction, shooting at Billings. Cyril was somehow shot multiple times in the back from above and fell forward straight onto the broken shards of glass, blood quickly pooling around him. Billings himself was shooting wildly. It seemed more men were pouring into the room.

Riza ripped the wig and glasses off her face, and ran as fast as she dared to behind an exhibit of golden plates, just out of range of the gunfire. The box containing the ankh dropped to the floor. Riza slid on her back down the side of the exhibit. It was hurting more. Trying to get her bearings, she let out a gasp.

There, concealed behind the shadow of a doorway, was a man. Riza squinted her eyes and used her sleeve to wipe away some blood. It couldn't be...Corelli?! The man bent down and slid Riza a gun across the floor, which she gratefully grabbed. When she looked up, he had disappeared.

Zeo's right index finger felt numbed as his revolver was blasted out of his hand. He should have felt pain but the morphine was doing its job. The cave became a forest as more and more trees appeared. The rustling of leaves was deafening. Some trees fell, but many more just came rushing in. They were all moving in a colorful dance. The fuzzy bear shed its skin and turned into a golden Princess. Zeo was inexplicably drawn to her. The Princess hide behind a glass pond with golden ripples. He could hear her gasp for help. He skipped towards the glass pond, and found the Princess holding a silver dagger at him.

***10 minutes before the deal***

As Vulkie double-checked her revolver and her Colt M1911 that she took with her, Molly was finishing Riza's disguise. "Almost done here..." Molly said, while doing some make-up on Riza's face, putting a brown wig on and giving her a pair of thick spectacles, Riza almost looked like the curator who was tied up in the office next to where the deal was going to take place. Suddenly, a loud thump came from behind the door from the closed office.

"Vulkie, get in there and shut her up." Molly hissed, and Vulkie silently obeyed. She took out her trusted Colt.38 and went into the office and saw the curator trying to roll over on her belly. Vulkie pointed her revolver towards the curator, who looked at her with tearful eyes. "You better shut up, or I'll make sure you shut up forever, which means, permanently" Vulkie said, while she carefully placed the barrel of her gun on the curator's forehead. Just then, Molly rushed in and closed the door. "Come on, we got no time. She better be quiet from now on, or the whole thing'll blow up." Molly said. "If we manage to pull this off, I'm going to have grey hairs after this" Molly added, while plucking a strand of her auburn looking hair.

Suddenly, a sound could be heard, probably the door opening and Riza said "Greetings, gentlemen. I'm Carle, the curator of the museum-". The next thing Vulkie heard was a muffled voice saying "Recognize... associate...". "Probably Zeo" Vulkie thought. A few moments later, Vulkie heard a few more whispers of a voice. "Step out... main room". This wasn't going according to the plan. Billings was onto something, Vulkie could sense it. But did he know that he was that close to his ex-wife and her friends? A sound of a door closing could be heard and Molly said "In 2 minutes, crack open that door. There should be a display, a yard or 2 from here, hide behind it and keep your gun ready". Vulkie obeyed and took out her pocket watch, to count the two minutes down.

***2 minutes later***

Vulkie carefully tried to turn the doorknob, and by wonder, the door was open. It seemed someone forgot to lock his office by accident, which favored Vulkie. She opened the door and crawled towards the glass display. She closed her eyes for a second and heard her heart beat slowly.

Suddenly, all hell broke loose. Gunfire could be heard, glass shattering and a woman screamed. "Molly!" Vulkie thought, and as she rushed back into the room where Molly was, she could see her struggling with a thug. "Give up luv, you can't win this!" the thug said. "You forgot about me fella!" Vulkie shouted, and while the thug turned around, Molly jumped onto his back and pointed her gun onto his head and took the shot. The thug fell down. "You ok?" Vulkie asked, while Molly shouted "GET RIZA! SHE'S IN DANGER!".

Vulkie rushed outside the office, with Molly behind her, while more henchmen poured into the main exhibit room. Suddenly, Billings stood on the other side of the room, firing at anyone that wasn't on his payroll. He suddenly glanced towards the other side, to see Vulkie and Molly stare in disbelief and then they both stared in angryness. They fired shots, but each shot deflected on his body. Billings suddenly ripped of some sort of protection, it looked like some sort of body armor. "I knew this was too good to be true!" Billings yelled and fired towards Molly and Vulkie, who both took cover near two exhibit casings. "Molly, he's mad!" Vulkie shouted. "I know, I married him and I know him!" she replied, while firing her gun from where she hid. As Vulkie peeked around the corner, she could see a henchman of Billings lying dead in the room where the deal took place. She could also see that Riza took cover near an exhibit and the ankh lying in front of her, on the floor...

This was a disaster. Molly impatiently swiped blood from her face, where it had splattered from the kill-shot she had delivered the thug. It only served to smear it down her cheek, making the normally very well put-together woman look savage.

"How are we doing down there?" she breathed, as Vulkie took a few more shots at Billings men. She risked a look out, and saw Billings standing in the center of the room. She also saw three other details in quick succession. One, a very unfocused-looking Joseph Zeo making his way towards Riza with a very manic expression in his eye. Two, Riza clutching her abdomen in pain, which was never something one wanted to see a pregnant woman do- and three- the ankh before her, which had presumably skittered out of the box.

On the flip side, the fourth thing she noticed was Riza had a gun. Which was good. Except for- Riza had a gun- a gun pointed at Zeo- who she might shoot...

"RIZA, DO NOT SHOOT YOUR BABYS FATHER!" She shrieked and abandoned her post, flying down towards the scene below at a breakneck speed. Billings had the grace to look vaguely surprised before he leveled his gun at her.

"Well, well , well, wife!" he began dramatically, and with a glare Molly fired off a shot right near his head.

"I've had just about enough of you, Jack! You're always swooping in and blowing things up and laughing like a damned IDIOT about it!" she shrieked, firing off a few more rounds. Jack looked abashed and hastily sought cover. "STAY OUT OF MY WAY!"

She zeroed in on Riza, hurrying towards her in case Zeo should get violent .

"Look, don't do anything rash now-"

She had almost reached them when a shot rang out from where Jack crouched behind a series of statues, and with a surprised look, Molly listed to the side and crashed into the wall, leaving a bright streak of red as she went down.

A storm was brewing in the forest, but Zeo had his gaze fixed on the Princess. The dagger looked very inviting and he had a strong desire to touch it. To be ripe apart by it. The wind howled the name "RIZA".... Riza sounded familiar... "BABY"... there's something he should remember, but it was like trying to touch an insect from the wrong side of the glass. Zeo smiled at the Princess, grabbed the dagger and put it on his temple.

"Riza, do not shoot your baby's father!" shrieked Molly as she barreled towards Riza.

Riza broke her gaze away from Zeo and watched in horror as Molly was shot and fell against a wall, leaving a bloody mess on her way down. Momentarily distracted, Riza did not notice Zeo take the gun from her hand. She looked back and he was holding it against his temple.

"No, Joseph, don't!" she screamed as she lunged for the gun. She wrested it out of his clammy grip and pushed him to the ground. "What the HELL is wrong with you?!" She leveled the gun at him, hands shaking. Zeo said nothing. Here merely smiled at Riza, but then suddenly frowned.

"Baby..." he said absentmindedly, staring at Riza's abdomen.

"W-what?" said Riza, taken aback. She looked down. A small bump was visible beneath her clothing, but nobody would notice it if they weren't looking for it. Unless...

Zeo reached out an arm toward it. Riza felt something icy shoot across her chest. Oh no. He couldn't. There was no way. No. No.

He knew.

Riza slowly lowered the gun until her arm fell useless at her side. She walked carefully toward Zeo, grasping his outstretched hand, and put it on her abdomen.

Riza's back was fully exposed to the enemy. Big mistake.
