What: An Arch-Villain Hunt Tournament
When: Starts Jan. 9 (a Monday)
Who: Anyone subscribed: newbies, intermediate, and advanced players

Prizes!
Winners (yes, that is plural) will win 3-month gift subscriptions. If there are 7 or more in a category, runner-ups will win 1-month gift subscriptions. If you are just starting out or been around since the start of Sleuth Noir, there is a category for you.

Categories will be:
Jack Rabbits (sleuths with less than a million points)
Jackalopes (sleuths with less than 10 million points)
Old Dragons (8 figure sleuths)
Note: You cannot enter more than one category. Your category will stay with you as to where you are when you accept your round 1 mission from the prince.

Competition will be head-to-head. No teams, simply individual. Very simple. To reduce the blind luck factor, there will be playoffs as follows:
2-3 competitors: Best 2 out of 3 with all competitors
4-6 competitors: Top 2 sleuths will have a sudden death playoff.
7-9 competitors: Top 3 in sudden death
10 or more: a 2nd round will be announced where the top half will advance.

You can start your AVH anytime on January 9. Entries starting after that date will not count (except by special permission). If you fail your AVH, you are simply outâ€"so be careful. Subsequent rounds will start January 16. January 16 may be pushed back depending on the results of the 1st round. You are timed simply on the day you finish. NOT on the time of day. Don’t want anyone feeling like they have to start at a particular time of the day to be competitive. Only whole days will be counted, and YES, there may be ties. Any category must have 2 or more contestants to be viable.

Special Note: If January 9 is a bad day for you and you still want to enter this contest, please state so in a reply. Also state what date you can start. Reasonable requests will be accommodated, and only your total days on your AVH will be counted.

You are doing great PumpkinKing! Go for the first prize mate as you surely done well! You have stiff competition, but I see you as a winner. No offence to the other contestants in this category which still got game!
Thank you NightQueen as well for organizing this and giving the chance to people to come together and prove themselves in a nice contest, smiling and enjoying the game, making new friends perhaps!

Winners are starting to pour in.

ThePumpkinKing has tied for first place in the Rabbits. Pumpkin wins a 3-month gift subscription.
AlexisLee has tied for first place in the Rabbits. Alexis wins a 3-month gift subscription.
Fleur Veritas has tied for first place in the Rabbits. Fleur wins a 3-month gift subscription.

It is outstanding that the Rabbits are showing everyone up. Great sleuthing! I am perfectly okay that there is a tie like this. It lightens up my purse, but that is okay.

I have special awards for some of the Rabbits. Those Rabbits who did their very first AVH in this tournament and successfully solved it, win 150,000 sleuth dollars. Those Rabbits include:

Cekuray.

I am really, really delighted to have so many new sleuths participate in an AVH contest. Usually, only veterans tend to enter these contests. I believe this is a first in Sleuth Noir.

There are more competitors still sleuthing (including me). Let's cheer them on.

Also, not entered in this contest is DaRu from Blue Pagoda. Although she did not enter this contest, DaRu was inspired by the commotion to try her very first AVH. Let's cheer for DaRu too.

According to Night Queen the tournament is over for the Rabbits. I would still like the remaining Rabbits to have another round though, just for the prestige of being the best Rabbit. This won't effect the prizes, which we've already won.

So how about it Fleur? Alexis? You game? One more round, just to see who the Alpha Rabbit is? And perhaps Si too, if he finishes his hunt by tomorrow.

Thank you for organising the tournament, Night Queen. It was fun to take part. Yes I think the Rabbits were a lively group and we were all pretty supportive of one another. Those first timers were indeed truly awesome! They certainly deserve a little extra bonus. I hope that something similar might happen again - in a few months time perhaps? Also I'm hearing rumours that there used to be an AVH League. Is there any more info on that?

AVH league no longer exists Fleur. The site was closed after the person that owned and ran it, stopped playing the game.

Oh that's a pity. I don't suppose there is a chance of it being resurrected? Perhaps not if it is a lot of hard work to organise and run? Anyway thanks for the reply LJ :)
