...that nobody's going to just hand me a place in an agency, with me not lifting a finger.
If there's any agencies hiring a non-connected detective lowon experience I'd be happy to get coffee, pay parking tickets and bribe the local PD with home-made donuts. I'll even water the plants twice a year.
Would be nice to have a job before the holidays. I've been very, very good this year...

I like coffee and donuts. That alone is tempting. If we weren't so full in Queen's Gambit, I would sign you up. You obviously are quite talented by your experience in so few days.
You might try asking Lady Jas in Blue Pagoda. Also, look at the active Treasure Hunts for the more active agencies. Some of them seem to have space available.

I'm obviously very lucky, but my donuts and coffee are creme de la creme. I know I'd hire me if I were somebody else. Too shy and modest to ask for a specific job though...
