It wasn't very long ago that this game was booming and. We all had arguments and ridiculous fights with each other, got over it, apologized, and moved on with this game. Now that I log on, I'm only seeing 9 people a day logged on. Not long ago, I'd log on and see 20 people logged on.

What happened?

It seems to me that Ben is very busy developing another project as well as having had another child, pulling him away from modding the game- I dont know what happened to the Moderators but it seems to me that little by little their activity tapered off.
Sleuth is quite a ghost town these days.

I'm just giving it time before something happens again...I pray that this is the right decision, this game is very unique, and I don't expect it to come to a drop-dead end anytime soon. Hope light shall purge through this lonely community and revive it once more into blazing life!

Oh, who am I kidding...I'm in it for the hunts!

There are many more gaming sites now. The competition is fierce. The competitors are very smart at marketing and making sure that Google pops them to the forefront.

Most gamers do not start with looking for detective games. You have to stumble accidently onto this site. I did. Sleuth Noir has the ability to keep detectives for a while, but they need to be sold on why subscribing is worthwhile.

Once someone subscribes, they need activities other than case solving. The case solving is wonderful, but wouldn't it be nice to also
-- break someone out of jail
-- pay off a snitch
-- have a fire in your apartment building
-- have weather affect things
-- have access to locations change based on whether it is night or day
--have to drive a car to get around town
--have sound
--add color
--add cities
--be able to interact with the pirates
--be a bad guy once in a while and have other sleuths try to find you before you escape
--be wanted by the authorities and be forced to sneak around
--be able to trade with others outside your agency
--have more variety in Big Lucy's
--have a weekly, triple-payoff day at the Shanghai races

Just a few ideas. Many of you have even more great ideas.

There are countless ways to keep Noir fresh and alive. The dropout rate is too large for veteran sleuths. You get to a million points, and there is not much left.

Admins, are you listening? Better question: Do you really care about our concerns?

I was actually going to reflect on all those suggestions and then got to "Admins, are you listening? Better question: Do you really care about our concerns?" and thought, why the hell would Ben bother. If you think continually slinging off at, making snide comments about, or trying to bully (from your many many guises) the person you want things from, will actually encourage him to do anything... Good luck with that!

Squirrel out.

There are a few Moderaters left still, Molly!

Well gosh, SS. Yes, I am just a bully. I must be a bully since I have all the power and you don't. Huh? I must be a bully because I wanted to be paid for a Sidekick that I earned. Silly me. What was I thinking?

It must make perfect sense to you to actually consider good ideas, and then reject them simply because they came from a bully like me. Good idea! Prevent others enjoying new things so you could get back at me.

It isn't just me that wonders if Sleuth Noir is dying. I wasn't the one that started this thread. I was fourth in line. I know it is not dead--yet. But I do know it is declining dramatically. Most of the other sleuths who have been here a while know the same thing.

I sing praises to Lady Jas for her steadfast involvement for all these years as a wonderful moderator--and good friend. Vulkie too. Thank you both for your wonderful, wonderful service!

SS,
There is nothing I would love better than to sing praises to you and Ben too. I crave it. But the praises need to be earned. It wouldn't take much to make me sing. All of us remaining remnant already LOVE Sleuth. That is why we re-subscribe. But how far does membership have to drop before Ben decides to hang it up for good? That is what we are wondering.

--Now a change of subject in front of everyone:

I don't want to be yours or anyone else's enemy. If you are willing, I am willing to bury the hatchet. You forget about my slights and insults; I will forget the Sidekick issue and lack of resolvement. I am not offering this olive branch because of fear of you. I offer it simply for the sake of keeping good community spirit. I also offer it because I prefer to work with management, not against it. What do you say?

SS, hate to say it but...

That is an offer you simply can't refuse. :)

On a sidenote, I believe Cairo's weather is getting hotter by the day! As the Winds of The West carry the tears into my eyes....which then resulted in me tearing up....Which made me get this hoodie...Which also protects me from the sun...Which also makes me look per-etty cool...Yeah.

Look, enough of these arguments, alright? We all have one thing in common, and that is we are all glad Nephistopheles is finally purged from the Message Boards! *Does a heel kick in the air and faceplants into a hobo's pillow, which happened to be a dead squi--chicken.*

Go Noir!

My bad.

I gave credit to Vulkie for being a moderator. She may have been one; my memory sometimes fails me.

Anyway, kudos and accolades to ctown28 for being the other moderator. He embodies the spirit and joy of Sleuth.

Vulkie, that's a sign that you're Moderator material! :)
