Wow....I've read through some of my old post, and this old shoe wants to apologize for a lot of my messages. I rambled a lot, and didn't make sense sometimes. When I first joined Sleuth, I was on several medications, that must have affected my thinking, and I didn't realize it. I'm truly embarrassed to even come back and play this game. Thanks for putting up with me and for being such good friends, during that time that I was suffering from much pain and sickness. Thankfully, I'm doing great today.

PS: Just told my spouse about this and he laughed and said: "Tell them you really aren't a mental case," and hey guys...I promise I'm not...LOL.

I think we're all suffering from a lack of sleep these days...I'm suffering from a mild case of mania and have just run outside in the cold for 30 minutes straight.

I feel so better now, and by better, I mean tired, and by tired, I mean lethargic, and by lethargic, I mean sick, and by sick, I really mean sick. Learned my lesson today. Going to learn to exhaust all my energy by other means...

Maybe a sugar crash would do good for me...With some onions and....

Senescence & Elapidae, I can relate to the lack of sleep, and your imaginary friends. You’ve inspired me to share this…..and it’s hilarious. This Moonlighting Dilettante, as so I am called here, use to play by the light of the moon, all night, every night, for at least a couple of years. This was during the time my spouse (who was also Texan in this game), use to work nights. There were mornings Texan came home and found me slumped over my keyboard drooling…LOL. Now, this story gets worse……and I hate to admit it. One night while solving a case, (and keep this in mind that my little Yorkshire Terrier always slept at my feet while I was on the computer) I fell asleep, and as I was falling out of my chair, I awoke with a jolt. I frantically reached for my desk to brace myself from falling, my hand knocked off my keyboard, which went flying through the air and hit my Yorkie on the head. He jumped up from his deep slumber yelping as if he’d been shot. Well, talk about feeling a boost of energy, I was good to go. Like you shared Synesence, I should have stopped and took a cold shower or something, dang…..I almost killed my dog. Now, to end this story and to ….top it off. There were a couple of nights while solving cases that my mind went into a state of trance, or what you might say I was a “Dead Girl Playing-------or ------Brain Temporarily Out of Order.“ Just about the time I was fixing to click on a suspect that I knew that was guilty, my mind went into one of those modes. Later I awoke to find to my horror that I had clicked on the wrong suspect. Yep…..you guessed it……..one with a Real Alibi…LOL. Now, would you call that being a dedicated player, or just downright stupid for not going to bed? Anyway, thinking back on those good ole days, I guess I have a good excuse for some of the rambling…ha! There’s no telling what I posted while being semi-conscious…LOL! So, I’m sure there are others who have great tails to tell. Come on……don’t be shyJ

I had to switch to a new laptop just recently due to keys missing from my previous laptop. I can't tell you how many times I've smashed the keyboard simply because a suspect wasn't cooperative with me, and I hate nothing more than quitting a case. Matter of fact, I hate seeing that number go up on my profile page, I don't know why do we even have it sitting there.

Secret Squirrel, why is it there? I can understand False Accusations, but why Cases Quit? I lost almost half the alphabets on the previous laptop due to constant smashing...Okay, maybe not constant...Just 4 cases...

Okay, 5 cas-- Fine! It was 12! Just like that time when I felt like I went into a trance and just accused an innocent suspect without realizing what I had done till I saw that 'No, that's not correct.' page. Felt like I was possessed by a pissed-off Sleuth that wanted to have some fun.

But I'm happy now, the Macbook Pro is definitely a piece of art...Though I should say that suspects are clamming more easily on me than before, regardless of the odds...It's strange.

Hello Da Ru - it is nice to meet you. I love it when people are frank and open, it gives character and personality to the community. No need to apologise for being a unique personality!

As for throwing keyboards.....well, sometimes I lift the whole monitor and bang it down on the table. How is that for computer rage? @ Synesence: I sympathise entirely. I am currently trying to increase my standing with Order of Socrates - having previously been high with DAB. It is a long, slow process since they were at minus 30 at one point. However, it means I have to quit cases that lower OoS standing...and that really mounts up! Very dispiriting to look at on profile page. My advice? Don't look :)

Thanks Summer. Great hearing from you. It’s good to know I wasn’t alone in having tantrums. I became so emotionally involved with this game that it leaked into the real world. I had crying spells & complained endlessly to Texan, till I nearly drove him bonkers. I fretted about everything, and this Ben and Sunny can attest to, cause I bugged them enough about nonsense. So, peace and love to our Administrators.

I agree Summer, it takes time to gain status with the O.O.Socrates, A. Bro., Cosa Nostra, Eastern T's, Green H., etc., as well as any status in this game. It took me years to accomplish what I have, and I will say if one is serious about this game, it’s best to belong in an agency. Being homeless just doesn’t cut the mustard. Since I’ve returned to Sleuth City, this homeless PI has had difficulties in solving the harder cases. With only the Shoemaker & Fortune Teller at my disposal, those dang merchants are trying to drain my bank account dry, LOL! Example: Here’s how a case went down: “I‘m paid $700 to solve a case, and wind up paying out $1000 in fees to merchants for clamming up on me. Guess this old shoe needed a bath, ha! No really, I know what they’re doing, there are forcing me off the streets, over to the right side of the tracks, and it’s working, LOL! Now about those difficult cases that are more than I could handle, last night I wound up having to quit three cases, due to everybody clamming up on me. So, I too agree with you Synes., that I also wished that the “Quit Cases,” weren’t there for public viewing, cause I worried about what others thought. However, I realize this is part of the makeup of the game which encourages us to be the best we can be.

PS: Since we've been sharing about getting so emotional about this game, I had to share this. I read about this lady who watched her favorite soap opera everyday, and because she took it to heart, cared so much about the characters, she actually went to chruch the next Sunday morning and requested prayer for one of the characters who was fixing to have surgery, and this is suppose to have really happened. I would say that's getting emotionally attached..

Hopefully, none of us will need counseling, or intervention.....hahahaha! However, I do have Sleuth withdrawals......and I have to have my fix:)
