Have you just had your best day of Sleuthing ever? Solved your first AI case? Got your last contact? Picked up your first treasure? Found a spoon? Finally got into the Prince's Palace?*

This is the place to share the joy, have a 'woot' or two and be congratulated by your fellow Sleuths.

Or maybe you've just had to pay Shady enough cash to finance a small war. Or reached screaming point with the tailor in Delhi. Or been pirated twice in a row. Or fallen into a trap three times running. You can share the woe, too, and we'll commiserate. We've probably been there too.

Me? I'm just happy that after two days' worth of 'south of the race track' I've finally got out of Shanghai :)

(* If you don't get the references, never mind. You could ask someone. Or you could just wait and see what the world of Sleuth brings you further down the line...)

I wasnt aware it was a bug. I thought it was part of the feature. Just like in real life, pets.get sick despite us grooming and feeding daily.

I do agree with you though, that the price is really steep. Especially for younger people who don't have a lot of money but wanted a pet and were not aware of the upkeep.

No, it is not a bug. Pets get sick every 200 days if they are fed and groomed regularly, and even sooner if they are not. Yeti made it clear from the very beginning and we need to accept it whether we like it or not. Obviously, every pet owner's answer is not. :)

If your pet gets sick sooner than that, it could be a bug.

I didn't remember yeti making it clear. And again I fail to see the added value to this. To the point that if it were possible I'd give up my pet for adoption (BadAss speaking).

The purpose of the whole Battery Boardwalk expansion was to add a new playable content to the game. The pets are only a reward, and a means to encourage you to play more furores and collect more brass rings. Some people like the furores, some don't (I'm among the latter group), and that's why you can always pay for the cure for the pet. If you don't want to pay, the pet will remain sick, but its negative stats apply only to the pet itself, the detective's stats remain intact. You, the detective minus the pet, will keep the same number of points you've had before you got the pet, depending on your gear, as if the pet wasn't there.

(Tyrion speaking :D).

No the detective stats don't remain intact. I get lower stats than I would have without a pet. That's what's so dastardly about it.

See for yourself Tyrion and click on my detective page. With this account I have a sick pet. My current stats are tough +11 smart +1 charm +16. Now look at m gear and do the math. Without my pet I would have had tough +16.

Correction: I have currently +19 charm. Without my pet dragging my stats down I would have +21 charm.

My pet gives me following stats

tough -2
smart -4
charm -2

If it were neutral all stats should be 0, right?

Yes, I did the math, and you are absolutely right. I never noticed, probably because I never let my pet(s) being sick for longer than five minutes. :) Very dissapointing, for if I remember correctly, that's contrary to what Yeti said when the pets were launched first, but then I can be wrong - again. It would be great if Ben (or Yeti, but I somehow doubt that we'll see him in the near future) could at least turn the negative stats into neutral.
