Me? I'm just happy that after two days' worth of 'south of the race track' I've finally got out of Shanghai :)

It looks like your detective is only one day old. You can't have earned enough in that time to afford even a one-room apartment - unless you also have a more experienced detective who has wired you the cash.

Yes, we have to buy our apartments - they're not automatically issued to detectives when we subscribe.
