Or maybe you've just had to pay Shady enough cash to finance a small war. Or reached screaming point with the tailor in Delhi. Or been pirated twice in a row. Or fallen into a trap three times running. You can share the woe, too, and we'll commiserate. We've probably been there too.

Me? I'm just happy that after two days' worth of 'south of the race track' I've finally got out of Shanghai :)

How awful, Dreamcatcher. I'm so sorry that you have lost so much. But you can come back from this. I'm pretty sure some other detectives have and I hope they will post here.

If it were me, then after completing the current villain hunt I'd go back to doing simple cases and regaining contacts - all the while building up cash from favours.

I did my first AVH recently, and it was deceptive. I had such good luck, it set me up for future hardships. Now, on my second, I've gotten what feels like 100 repeat clues, halted by pirates consecutive times, and just all-around battered by this hunt.

I give you vets credit for doing so many of these, since they are just merciless.

Once you get Hostage Negotiation it will make life somewhat easier. Repeat clues will always be a bitch though.

Personally I would pick trap detection first. Being pirated is annoying but some nemesis tasks are damn near impossible without trap detection. I mean, I don't have the patience of trial & error to map out entire catacombs or cave systems.

But some will beg to differ ...
