Or maybe you've just had to pay Shady enough cash to finance a small war. Or reached screaming point with the tailor in Delhi. Or been pirated twice in a row. Or fallen into a trap three times running. You can share the woe, too, and we'll commiserate. We've probably been there too.

Me? I'm just happy that after two days' worth of 'south of the race track' I've finally got out of Shanghai :)

Last night I made my first ever fail on a villain hunt. And it was well-deserved, that's the problem.

Moral: when you remember that you haven't done your cases for the day, never try to catch up in the wee, small hours, when you're half asleep, and working on auto-pilot.

Ah well - on to the next case!

Well, I've just been lurking for a bit but now I've gotten myself into quite a predicament and figured it'd be fun to share. :P

With the furores being all funky I've randomly accepted a few invites but never been around when I eventually got a message saying "the furore's in 10 mins!" - until now. I think for the most part I just wanted to check if the seaplane still worked. Logged in some 15 minutes ago and saw the 10 minute alert (for what I think is the March 2nd, 00:30 SST game, offset to March 4th, 07:15 SST). Scrambled to complete the case I had open to be able to try to board the seaplane. Successfully did that, hurried over to the seaplane (it worked!) - with all my gear. This will be relevant later. xD

Out of habit, visited Jonny the Cotton Candy guy, freed up an accessory slot. Also relevant later.

Check out the Carousel page to see if the carousel furore chat is up, it is not. :( Well, so much for me ridiculously-hoping-for-a-furore. That's okay, I can check out the Boardwalk anyway. Also, I totally tried out every carousel horse to see if that could trigger a furore. That didn't happen either. Oh well.

Look at my detective page to figure out if I have any packages to be delivered or library books to retrieve from the Boardwalk area (happens really frequently these days) - see that I have to deliver a package to the Big Wheel Operator. Okay!

Then I'm given a furry pink animal. I'm delighted. I look to see when I should pick up the bunny, but no, it's already taken up my vacant accessory slot. ...okay!

But now I can't leave the Boardwalk without retrieving my first accessory from Jonny. And I have no way to swap out or sell or otherwise deal with three accessories in the Boardwalk area. Oops. I guess I'll live here till somebody can pull together funds to airlift me and my mini-zoo out of here. :P

The irony of life - I've been trying to get one of those pink fluffy animals for ages and never get one - and here you get one and it's a problem for you. :D

That's the weirdest Sleuth story I've ever heard. And perhaps the saddest. What with the speed the problems are resolved in Noir, the Boardwalk will probably look like the Sleeping Beauty's wood of thorns before a prince on a white charger (let's call him Ben) comes to your rescue. In a hundred years... maybe. :D

I'm not allowed to leave as long as the Boardwalk thinks I've left an accessory behind with Jonny. The exit turnstile(?) reminds me of my unsettled account with the "highly irregular" Jonny, and at Jonny's I'm asked to sell back to him cotton candy I don't have to free up a slot to retrieve an accessory. So I'm guessing it's a delete or teleportation thing.

I'm afraid teleportation might freak out the entire Boardwalk though; if Jonny has an unretrieved peacock to deal with *in addition to* cotton candy, it might push him over the edge. What will he do? Or if the peacock is just disappeared when I'm zapped away, that'd be okay too. SS has been kind enough to return the same peacock to me once or twice when it had been snatched by the locker ghost, so even reunions are hackneyed at this point. :P

Ben seems to log in most every day but I doubt he's checking his PMs or this message board. I really hope they resolve your situation - or give you an extension on your subscription for however long you have to sit on the Boardwalk.

Caught my second Arch Villain today! I'll be looking for more fashionable items when I get to travel to Shangri La tomorrow!

I have been off for a while since my nemesis hunts are stalled due to the furores but logged on to see if they were fixed. I take it from Bela’s Story that they are not?
