Have you just had your best day of Sleuthing ever? Solved your first AI case? Got your last contact? Picked up your first treasure? Found a spoon? Finally got into the Prince's Palace?*

This is the place to share the joy, have a 'woot' or two and be congratulated by your fellow Sleuths.

Or maybe you've just had to pay Shady enough cash to finance a small war. Or reached screaming point with the tailor in Delhi. Or been pirated twice in a row. Or fallen into a trap three times running. You can share the woe, too, and we'll commiserate. We've probably been there too.

Me? I'm just happy that after two days' worth of 'south of the race track' I've finally got out of Shanghai :)

(* If you don't get the references, never mind. You could ask someone. Or you could just wait and see what the world of Sleuth brings you further down the line...)

Today was the first time I completed a treasure hunt. The Gilded Necklace of the Olmecs. It was an indescribable feeling :)

Way to go, Lawlie!! ;-D

Still trying to get hold of a favour for the Tailor in Delhi -they seem to be as rare as hen's teeth! At least I've saved up enough to pay off Shady should I be foolish enough to get a 2nd falsie.

And I've managed to lose my voice. It usually turns up, hidden in my sock drawer ... but not yet!

I'd check with the chickens, Melanie. They always seem to know where the stolen voices and the tailors' favors disappear to. :-.

It's day #6 for my latest migraine, and I'm starting to get just a bit fed up with having my brain try to explode out of my skull. It would be really, really nice if we had a nice series of rainstorms pop up, like we had around here the beginning of last week. But no, blaring sunshine and 75+ degree weather, every day. It sort of makes one believe there really is a devil. :-/

Then, to top it all off....

I'd just let my two dogs outside just after the crack of dawn this morning, and gone back to bed to try and get some more blissfully pain-free sleep. About ten minutes later, Gid-get and Wid-get starting barking their heads off.

Now, normally, this wouldn't be such a big deal. Most dogs don't have that big of a bark to them. A Chihuahua, tiny li'l yip. A poodle, puuuhl-ease. A Lab, no problemo.

But my two aren't yer average Pekingese. Oh no. They're Great Pyrenees. (Think kissing-cousins to a Saint-Bernard.) They've got a woof that you can hear in the next county, let alone next door. Now, the good news is, they very, very rarely bark. They only bark when there REALLLY is a reason for them to be barking. The bad news is, when they bark, you better call 911, cause somebody's dead, or the house is on fire. (The other good news is, they usually bark for about 30 seconds, then stop. Whatever has caused them to bark--burglar, raccoon, errant postman, whatever--has usually hightailed it by that time.)

So they start up about 8:15 this morning with their not-usual WOOOOOOFFs. And this time, they don't stop. After two minutes of this, I finally crack an eye open, and glare at the hubby.

"What the hell're they barkin' at??"

"Dunno, but it's your turn to go look."

(Thank you, Sweetheart. I lovvves you too. ;-)

So I get up, go out to the back porch, open up the door, and out to the back yard, and find my next door neighbor sticking her head over our mutual fence.

"Hiya!"

"Oh hi!"

"Sorry bout them barking like that. They'll prob'ly calm down in a minute or so."

"Oh, it's all right. I just came out here to see what all the commotion was."

"Yeah, me too. But I don't see anything..."

"Oh! You didn't see it???"

"See what??" (Now there's a sleep-befuddled AND completely perplexed look on my face.)

"Oh, they were barking at the hot-air balloon overhead!"

O.O

" 'Scuse me??"

"Yeah, you shoulda seen it! It was really cool. But they went totally nuts when they saw it!"

O.O

So. I now apparently have the two most unintelligent dogs in the neighborhood. Who apparently cannot tell a butterfly from a hot-air balloon.

I need Tylenol. NOW. ;-D ;-D ;-D

Here, in my part of the world, is a beautiful day.
Sunny, but not too hot. Just warm. :-)
