Have you just had your best day of Sleuthing ever? Solved your first AI case? Got your last contact? Picked up your first treasure? Found a spoon? Finally got into the Prince's Palace?*

This is the place to share the joy, have a 'woot' or two and be congratulated by your fellow Sleuths.

Or maybe you've just had to pay Shady enough cash to finance a small war. Or reached screaming point with the tailor in Delhi. Or been pirated twice in a row. Or fallen into a trap three times running. You can share the woe, too, and we'll commiserate. We've probably been there too.

Me? I'm just happy that after two days' worth of 'south of the race track' I've finally got out of Shanghai :)

(* If you don't get the references, never mind. You could ask someone. Or you could just wait and see what the world of Sleuth brings you further down the line...)

Yesterday I finished my VH and unlocked my next nemisis quest both in my first case of the day! Whew! All that bad luck seems to have turned, for now...

I just had a case where every suspect clammed up even before I could get any more than 4. No one on the map helped me either. And now I have a case where I have 3 threatening notes and 4 alibis are supposedly "Banker".

Yes it's a pain when that happens Zapple. Did you try asking your witness evidence contact (music teacher) if she knew anything about the case? It might haver unlocked another suspect for you.

Plus I can see that you're a bit overloaded on Smarts gear. As a Very Smart detective you don't actually need very much of this for it to work well for you. You will still find that most, or maybe all, of your physical evidence is identified even with only a couple of Smart 'points'. However, if you swap some of it for more Charming or Tough gear (only one or the other - don't mix both types) you will find that suspects and townies are more willing to talk with you. Good luck :)

I solved 4 cases and a favour and earned only one skill point today... So yes, while I'm satisfied about my performance otherwise, I'm really miffed at how difficult it is to earn skill points as you solve more cases. Only one skill point for 5 correctly solved cases. At this rate, it'll be a bare MINIMUM of another 5 days before I can think of buying one more skill which I need.

Unfortunately, I wish I could say things will get easier, Lawliettine. (Neat name, by the way. ;-)

As you proceed up the ladder of Sleuthdom royalty, gaining more experience, skills, and know-how along the way, those skill points are only going to become more and more scarce. Eventually, you'll go roughly 40,000-50,000 exp. points between them when you get to be an expert detective. (I go about half a millenium between them at my present speed--been taking a bit of a holiday recently. ;-)

Anyway, moral of the story is, give it time. Take things slow and at a pace you can handle. You're doing wonderfully. You've already landed your first contact, you have most of a wardrobe put together without any assitance from the looks of things, and you're only a week old. Most of all, you're still in one piece! ;-D ;-D ;-D I wish I'd done half as well at a week as you're doing.

You really are doing spectacularly!!!! Keep up the great work!! ;-D
