Have you just had your best day of Sleuthing ever? Solved your first AI case? Got your last contact? Picked up your first treasure? Found a spoon? Finally got into the Prince's Palace?*

This is the place to share the joy, have a 'woot' or two and be congratulated by your fellow Sleuths.

Or maybe you've just had to pay Shady enough cash to finance a small war. Or reached screaming point with the tailor in Delhi. Or been pirated twice in a row. Or fallen into a trap three times running. You can share the woe, too, and we'll commiserate. We've probably been there too.

Me? I'm just happy that after two days' worth of 'south of the race track' I've finally got out of Shanghai :)

(* If you don't get the references, never mind. You could ask someone. Or you could just wait and see what the world of Sleuth brings you further down the line...)

Mmm, it is odd. The whole favour business seems to be a little awry at the moment. For the most part it's: favour- 3 cases - another favour ... as usual. However, I'm finding that out-of the blue I will have to do four cases between favours - and that is without any travelling or quitting cases. Just now I completed a successful favour then 3 normal cases - no favour waiting. I completed a 4th normal case - still no favour. What is going on?

Things remain bizarre. I started today with 12 cases and was lying at a favour outstanding from yesterday. Cashed the favour and went on to solve everything else - no quits. Suddenly noticed that, after solving 3rd favour of the day, my 'cases remaining' (on the Case menu) was 5 not 6. Somewhere along the line a case was taken away! I'm wondering if this happens when you start the day with a favour from the previous day? I guess I will have to watch out for that.

Hi mysterious.

Have you had a look at the Newbie FAQ? There's a link right down at the bottom of every page.

You'll also find more useful info in the 'Newbie Questions' section of the message board. That's the place to ask about whatever's puzzling you, and we'll do our best to help.

Congrats on your three cases in a row, and happy future Sleuthing!

aaaaargh - how was my sleuth day? till now real good on my avh. just about to move to final city - had got my 5 clues in cairo and found co-conspirator but........ after i selected fortune teller the little menu thing flicked back to coffee roaster and i had already pressed the button before i realised!!! n000 after all that hard work.

i know this thread is supposed to be for expressing joy but i am just gonna hijack it anyway to express pain :(

Drop-down menu agony! I can really sympathise on that one. Sometimes your mouse is really your enemy.

No way is this thread just for the good days. It's the bad days when you really need your fellow sleuths to rally round.

(Thought: you know how you get an "are you sure you want to accuse xxxx?" on normal cases - shouldn't you get the same thing in AV hunts?)

So I finally get my 'cases quit' to a reasonable level - after a period of utterly egregious AIs (ones that I call 'Absolutely Impossible' rather than 'Almost') - and then what task does the nemesis hunt give me? That I must quit a certain number of a certain type of case (not wanting to give spoiler here) for the next clue. Now that is just perverse. My nemesis is clearly determined to have a laugh at my expense while I'm hunting him/her down!

Friday, I once lost 9 cases. 3 x 3 in a row just like you said. Noir is full of surprises ;). You can even toughen up nerves using Noir!

I should have added that my post was in relation to Friday's post on the first page. I wonder if the 9 successive case loss record will ever be broken!
