I know that this is not something anyone can know for sure... but I'm just curious. Does anyone know from experience what the average wait time is for a scripted mystery to get looked at once it has been submitted. I just submitted one and I was just not sure if it is a matter of a week or two or maybe a month or more? I just have no idea at all. I'm sure it will be sent back and I'll have to rework it but I don't have any time frame to expect it.

I'd like to point out that the 'within a week or two' turnaround is only for the initial assessment.

I'd say that, no matter the editor, the time from taking on the mystery for editing and sending it to Admin for publishing is anywhere from two weeks to three months. It all depends on the amount of work that needs to be done and how willing the author is to make changes and do additional writing, not to mention how long it takes them to make the changes/additions and how long it takes for us to review them.

That's not pointed at you, Cyril - it's a general note for any author to make note of.

Oh, and... sometimes it takes much longer for the initial assessment turnaround. Sometimes it's because no one has a chance to do the play-through, sometimes it's because there's a long queue at that point, and sometimes it's because we're trying to formulate the words to say...

Do you need any help with the editing process? I'm happily returning to the game and still an rookie this time around-- and I've not yet finished my own scripted mystery-- but I'm a librarian in my other life, and do a lot of writing and editing in my job.

I'm sure a person has to become an admin to be part of the editing process, or some other step that proves she can be trusted. :] But please just know that if you ever need an extra pair of eyes at some point down the road, you can let me know.
