Hello everyone, I'm working right now on a SM and it had ocurred to me while questioning a witness (townspeople) to create multiple paths that can help you go further in the story to one way or another. For that I made a question that opens other two questions and you have to choose one or the other, but when I make my decission I don't seem to find the option to block the other question. So I wanted to know if this can be possible

Hope I could express myself correctly

Lawrence, there is a way to accomplish what you want, but it involves blocking the character off after one question is asked.

Create a persistent twist whose purpose is to prevent anyone from speaking with the suspect again, and have both questions trigger the twist. Unfortunately, once you've done that, you really can't use the suspect again (if you unblock them, the player will be able to then access the second question). That doesn't have to be a big deal, though. Either create a suspect who is not necessary to the case once the question is asked, or create a situation where the suspect is no longer a necessary part of the story.

I understand what you are saying Ani but the character on which I'm trying to place this multiple path thing is a townspeople (witness) and not a suspect, so I can't make twists on them I think. Perhaps I should place it on a suspect

What you could do is to create a 'suspect' who is someone that works in the business with the townie. So, instead of Ruby the Teller at the bank in NY, it could be Stephen the Bank Manager (or Jacob the Janitor). Perhaps the player would have to go to Ruby to find out that Stephen (or Jacob or whomever) exists, thus unlocking that person.

Yeah that could work perfectly. I've also used the twists as you said so I made a bit of progress in this matter.

Thanks a lot for your help Ani
