Is is just me or is it a waste of time and $20. I went there and the crystal ball was absulutely no help at all.

The info you pay him for is different than if he knows anything about the case.

If the FT tells you that "all of the actors have taken the stage..." or whatever it is, then you know that you have all of the suspects you need. If he says you have others to speak with, you need to ask for more people with motives.

This saves in the number of questions you need to ask your suspects, which helps a lot (on the harder levels especially) when the suspects clam up on you really easy.
