I've made a few changes to the structure of mysteries today that aren't very obvious. I'll let you figure out most of them. A few important things though.

1) The harder level mysteries are probably a little tougher than before. If you find yourself having troubles, you might want to move down a level for awhile.

2) The number of suspects is no longer static on ANY difficulty level.

3) If townspeople / shopkeepers know anything about the case, and the person they know about isn't already visible to you, they will now become visible. You will not automatically know their motive though. This should make the non-physical evidence contacts more important than they used to be.

Reda, if you take the 9 type of cases we used to have, and the 9 type of much harder to cases of today.....you inherently have 18 levels of cases.

Ben,
Fortune teller helps, and I like it. I don't mind the insecurity so much of exactly knowing how many suspects. But I do like it for the value of maybe having to question 1 or 2 people less.

I think with best equipment, and all skills it is a bit much for a towns person already wanting a bribe at the first question. Particularly if it is just to check and alibi, and there are still 1 or more evidence or alibi's you wanted to check there, but no longer can.

I am very much concerned about the amount of money this is costing extra. I think a lot of people can get in to trouble with Shady both experienced and unexperienced detective.

I used to get a kick out of rediculous or stupendous cases where either no evidence was for my contact, or 1 piece that did not fit. When that happens, I pretty much know, I am not going to finish the case.

In addition, it happens a lot, just by asking motive, or not even that. Some people clam right away. This really sucks, if you spend all this time doing a case, to have two people you don't have alibi's from, both with evidence pointing to them. Not only can you barely get 2 suspects pointing to the same person because of clamming, but even when you do....you don't really want to venture a guess.

If anyone is wondering why I have so little quits. Is because those cases I knew I was not going to solve (like 4 hairs), I gave away. And it always turned out I had to quit on my alternate. All in all, about every 4th or 5th case, I have to forcefully quit. With bad luck, I have to put every 3rd case in to case files. This is a bit much.

I find working on stupendously, as well as rediculously having the same stats as mentioned above. Also, I suspect an increase of having to quit incredibly hard ones as well a lot more, although this did not happen to me today.

I like it. Love the townpeople being good for more. With FT, the varying list is not causing me to use up all my questions. so that is fine. All in all makes the play more interesting.

Only down side so far is by dropping down a level now it will take twice as long to build those glacial skill points, and I still have one or two skills I'd like to pick up.

Well, nobody's mentioned the most distressing fallout from the change. I had finally figured out a coding system that let me get EXACTLY 3 incredibly hard cases on one sheet of paper with no waste - and now - poof!! Heartless Ben. Trying my poor accountant's soul like that!!

It's been a little awkward, but I managed to fit four cases onto one sheet relatively neatly. Even with the changes, it works well enough.

I am sure that someone else has brought this up already but i will do it again for jstkdn and friends. Is there any way to freeze the cost of shady for a week or two while we get used to the changes, say maybe you will only have to pay the same ammount as you did on your last visit
