Rate of Acquiring Skill Points

I've been wondering for a while now -
What determines whether you get a skill point at the end of a case?
I always thought it was experience points, but now I'm not so sure.

I also haven't been receiving them as fast as I used to. What slows down the rate of acquiring them? I'm trying to figure out a strategy to get skill points without picking up cases that are too hard to solve.

You're right it is experience that affects your skill points.

As your experience inscreases the amount of experience needed to gain a skill point also increases. As to what that formula is; I know a lot of people have tried working it out in the past but no set calculation has been effectively crafted, at least not to my knowledge :)

Hope that helps a little.

IF you can do Almost Impossible cases, then you will get a skill point at around 40,000 xp which is equivelent to 8 Almost Impossible cases.

I usually get 1 skill points after solving about 9-10 AI cases, but sometimes I don't get any at all. You'll get quite a lot at the beginning, but it takes more time later on.

I'm newbiee and as I understood if i don't take a skill point doing intermediate - I have several options:
- to do more intermediate to take my skill point or to begin solving hard cases to get 1 skill point per case?

Another question - can I cancel one of my skill to get skill points? I did a mistake - took flirting, but character is tough and smart and I have neither sweet talking nor bending rule skill. If I can't cancel the skill, will it be reasonable to take the charm skill just to get work this damned flirting %-)

Please copy the answer by mail, thx!
