OK, I know this has been asked before but there was no answer and I was thinking maybe someone got some insight into this. How is the amount of money needed to pay off Shady calculated? I suppose it's based on experience, but what's the formula?

Thanks in advance.

Are you saying that Shady's price goes up if I do a case he doesn't like!? I'm in trouble then.

Shady can like your cases? You must be confused. Shady isn't a faction.

I think he means when you get the cut screen about seeing shady, then if you solve the case, you see shady across the street and you have a feeling you haven't seen the last of him.
To the best of my knowledge, that has NO bearing on your shady amount. The shady amount will continue to go up into astronomical levels (ask jstkdn!) as your experience goes up- nothing you can do about it. It might help if you play lower level cases to build up money for a while.

I know Shady isn't a faction.

Faeryshan guessed it right. Good job! :) Sorry for being so inexact.
It was that exact cut screen. I thought maybe that would be an explanation as to why my prices ar so darn high. I know most of those cut screens have no influence whatsoever but I thought this one did. It seemed to me as if Shady didn't want the case solved and I did it anyway.

Yes it does go up to astronomical levels, to a point that the amounts mentioned in this thread make me chuckle.

This is why doing easy cases are a good deal 1) gets me still the favours for 4800, but without barely an increase of the shady money, 2) gets me to favours faster in a treasure hunt.

I can highly advise having double the shady money in your own account, to be on the safe side. Playing lower level cases in the mean time, also less chances to goof up.

Never guess, bad return of investment.

cut scene has no influence on the price. i belive the best strategy regarding shady is to never guess. if u r not sure its better to quit the case then to meet shady.
u might think im a looser but as far as i can remember i met him only once at the begining. so just be sure before u accuse.
