Amidst the blare of Sleuthville's cars and the general noise of the city streets, Riza acends a cardboard box at City Hall, clearing her throat.

Annoyed at getting no response from the hundreds of detectives around her chasing murderers and getting drunk at the bar, she grabs Anais Nin, who is walking by, by the shoulders and whispers something into her ear.

Anais nods. A second later, a shrill shriek rips through the air, making many people jump and exclaim in surprise. Riza smiles, thanks Anais, and starts to speak.

Ladies and Gentlemen, the time has come once again for a Villain Hunt Tournament! Recently, seeing how contests are always fun and bring the community together--both spectators and participants--the Vidocq Society is honored to host the Tournament of the Champions.

What's that you say? You're not a champion? Pfft, who cares? What is a champion but one who rises to greaness? You all have the chance to obtain greatness and immortalize yourselves! Each and every single one of you. *points at everyone in turn*

That being said, anyone who wants to join, please post here. The match will start on Monday March 8, 2010 at 0:00 sleuth server time. Now on to the rules.

You may:
-travel to Shangri La the night before, but NOT start the hunt
-use a travel kit
-use head of faction privileges
-use agencies and apartments to swap gear

You may not:
-use sidekick cases
-enter second/third detectives, etc.

Basically, you're on the honor code.

The format will be 8 or 16 detectives, depending on turnout, each randomly paired off by a third party to face one other person. The winner from each round will go on to the next round. Same day captures are considered ties, and will result in a triple threat match. The last one standing wins.

Congrats to Sal for a very well-deserved win! Been an honour playing against you, sir. Same goes for everyone else in this competition. The whole thing's been a hoot, and a big thank you to Riza for thinking of it.

Thanks to all of you. I love these tournaments and doubted that I would ever have the luck to win one. I know exactly how it feels to solve all your cases and not be able to move the hunt. I can sympathize with everyone there.
My luck held up, that's all there is to it. But I am grateful for all the good wishes.
I can't wait for the next one. Who will lady luck smile on next time?
Riza, thanks to you for putting this on, you did a wonderful job.
