Waaaay before my time here, Serges hosted Sleuth March Madness in 2007. I thought it looked like a lot of fun, so... without further ado, The copy pasted rules from then with minor modifications! ;)

The premise is pretty simple. We compile a list of 64 of the game's most recognizable players, seed them into a tournament bracket, and allow Sleuthville to vote for the "best" in each matchup.

Rules for eligibility:
You are not allowed to nominate yourself.
You may nominate up to 3 persons.
The nominated must be over 30 days old by March 1, 2010, and active.

Entries and nominations should be messaged ASAP. As soon as we get 64, the seeding process will begin and the matchups will be posted.

After the initial bracket is filled, I will post a few matchups here every day. Then, the people involved in those matchups will have an opportunity to say "anything" on this thread that they feel will allow them to advance to the next round of competition. Sleuthville votes will be what decides the winners, and voting information will be coming soon.

The overall winner of this tournament will receive $100,000 sleuth cash.

We will start the voting on March 1st, so get your nominations in as quickly as possible! Please PM me the nominations, and I will be posting a list of who has been nominated, the brackets, and all that fun stuff as we go. :)

Sorry i have been in lalaland like, forever. Tried to return but the world seemed like a slippery place. Wow, Rosamund and Anais. I must say Rosamund is a wonderful person and amazing scripted mystery writer, and I look forward to get to know her more and more. However, Anais has been an old and wonderful friend, and have always tried to make Sleuth a better place (actually, they both do). Anyhow, my vote must go to Anais. Have a great one gal! ;)

I've been busy in RL for quite a while too (or is lalaland here?) but I'll have to endorse now that I'm here. And I'm unable to leave since I'm chained down and the chainsaw's missing.

Anais Nin is an all round great person. She has good organizational skills. She has to in order to be able to sort 64 Sleuths out without batting an eyelid. That same topic leads on to the fact that this thread was started by her.

Rosamund Clifford, circa 1150-1176. Famed for her relationship with Henry II of England. Whaddaya mean that's a different Rosamund Clifford?

DETECTIVE Rosamund Clifford, circa 4th year on Sleuth. Famed for her skills with a keyboard when writing SMs, which usually become FMs ASAP. Still active after 4 years shows how dedicated to Sleuth she is.
Spare a vote for one of them (unless I'm late and voting is over.)

I'm so sorry I noticed this too late or I'd ask all of you to vote for Breit who has been one of the pillars of Sleuth for years. She is also one of the kindest and bravest persons I've ever known, who will always have my greatest respect and admiration. I can't imagine Sleuth without her and her famous wink :).

I don't know Anais personally, but I often read her RPs and I know that she is a very talented writer who bears the noble title of thespian with good reason. Besides, she's an active member of the commmunity with exceptional organizational skills. Her organizing this contest proves it. Sleuth needs new and fresh forces to step into shoes of older and slightly tired ones, and Anais is certainly one of them.

So, VOTE ANAIS NIN!
