This is a thread where Sleuths can talk about narrow misses in cases where they were brave (or foolhardy) enough to continue even if the chances were high against them!

I had one case where I had four unknown footprints, three suspects with the shoemaker alibi, and of course he clammed without answering a single question. I bribed him, and got one False Alibi. I tried my WE, but the 2 suspects who "knew something" were both clammed. I tried my very last suspect who wasn't clammed. I didn't know if he knew anything or not, but I asked him about my false alibi suspect. My heart jumped in my chest when he said he saw the suspect disposing of the murder weapon.

I don't think I ever felt such satisfaction in accusing a suspect.
