Who can join: Anyone (reading Reformed Burglars Never Rest would be nice)

Golden Rule: No 'moving' or speaking for someone else's characters unless you have previously talked about it.(That's basic netiquette)

Plus, I'd like (that's not a rule, though) that off topics would come marked in some of the following ways:
OFF - X, have you read my PM?

No need to ask to join, just post. The O'Learies are all NPC's, so anyone can 'move' or speak for them. Any doubts, feel free to pm me.

Marc walked into his office shutting the door behind him. He took off his suit's jacket and hung it up on his coat rack, followed by his fedora. He moved to his coffee pot. He put four heaping scoops of coffee in the filter and turned it on. He sat back down as the coffee began to brew. The smell was exotic.

As the Coffee brewed, Marc replayed the scene in his head again. From the entrance of O'Leary's house, to the interrogation, to the final blow; the death. When Timothy would hear about it, he would know for sure who did it. There would be know doubt that he would know Marc killed his little brother.

But the question in turn now was, could Marc prevent O'Leary from coming out and exposing him for killing James? Marc ran his fingers through his dark hair thinking in deep thought. Marc took out his revolver and sat it on his desk. He picked it up and unloaded the empty shells. He reached into his desk and pulled out three more loaded shells and placed them into the slots on his revolver and placed the gun back in his holster.

The coffee pot stopped brewing and the strong smell indicated that the coffee was ready to be drank. Marc pulled out a cup and filled it with coffee and sat back down at his desk. No sooner than he sat down, he heard a knock on his office door.

"It's open," Marc said.

The door opened.

Elizabeth wasn't sure about who she could trust. Actually, she was pretty sure she could trust everyone in the agency. She wasn't sure any of them would help her, though.

Her plan involved lies, schems and, possibly, murder. Not easy to find someone from the right side of the law to agree with all that.

She then thought of Marc. Well, he was tough. And even if he wasn't up to help, it was unlikely that he would tell on her. Having someone to listen would be helpful enough.

The smell of coffee told her he was in, and she knocked on the door. As he said it was open, she slid in, closing it back.

Her eyes locked on his as she spoke, no intonation at all.

"Tim O'Leary is blackmailing me and threatening every person in this agency. In order to stop him, I'll have to steal, forge, lie, schem, and possibily kill. And I need help. Are you on for it?"

Annabelle looked on as the woman made her little speech. Rather presumptuous, she thought sniffily. No finesse, why even a child her age could do it better.

She was careful not to move, as the pair had quite forgotten her existence, and listened carefully as the woman explained her predicament. Perhaps...just perhaps this information would prove useful to her father. She would leave it up to him, not many criminals took such a tiny girl seriously, no matter how intelligent she was.

In her mind, she carefully took notes while under the pretense of playing with a doll she brought along for such occasions. If they noticed her, she would simply flash them a dazzling smile, call the woman pretty and thus lull them into a false sense of safety.

Marc stood for justice. Or did he? He wasn't sure anymore what he stood for. The night before, Marc killed someone in cold blood. Yes, it was a cold blooded move. But now this? Elizabeth just asked for his help in a plan that would involve stealing, lying, forging, and murder? Marc stared at her.

"Are you serious?" He asked her. He wanted to object but hesitated. He thought about telling her it was wrong and he wouldn't do it. But he killed someone the night before in cold blood. Telling her no like that would make him a hypocrite, and he hated hypocrites.

"Lying, stealing, forging, killing?" Marc asked and she slowly nodded. Marc could see, now the darkness in her eyes that she 0nce had. And in order to finally stop O'Leary, this may be their one chance to do it.

Marc sighed. "Alright," He said, "I'm in. What do I need to do first?"

Elizabeth smiled, and that shadow went away from her eyes.

"Thanks, Marc. You're a brave gent. Now, let's see..."

She took a moment to put her ideas together.

"Tim wants the Silver Ring of the Druids, which lies in our very well locked treasure cabinet. Not a problem for me, though, I'm pretty good with locks. That's the stealing part, borrowing, actually."

She paused to make sure he was following.

"Next up - forging. I know this guy who makes perfect copies of anything, especially jewels. That being done, the real Ring comes home, and the false one goes to Tim."

Another pause. She walked around, nervously.

"The lying part is tricky. I'll have to convince Tim that I have... resumed my old ways. And after he's really secure, the grand finale. You all will be fine".

She finished letting herself drop on a chair, not the slightest hint of blood on her face.

"Elizabeth, there is one thing wrong with your plan," Marc said. "Although I'm obliged to help you, I have my own fears of this."

In truth, he did have his fears. "There are too many questions," Marc said.

"What do you mean?" She asked.

"The Silver Ring of The Druids. What do we say to the directors when one of them finds it is missing?" Marc asked. He continued on, "Joseph Zeo works for the FBI and the feds are going to find out somehow, and he's going to end up chasing us. Do you realize I'm going against everything I stand for?"

Elizabeth stopped with a blank look.

"I'll help you if it means taking this bastard out, but my two problems are the directors, and Zeo. He'll end up being the one to have to find us. Last night James said that Tim is still in Ireland. It will be at least three more days before he gets back." Marc said.

There was a moment of silence before she spoke again.

Elizabeth let out a deep sigh. After a moment of silence, she spoke again, in a tired voice.

"James lied. Tim is nowhere near Ireland. He is right here, in a location I happen to know too well."

She sighed again and stood up, pacing around the room.

"The Ring won't be missing for long. Just a day, or so. And whatever happens, I'll take full responsibility. You can't be blamed. You can say I blackmailed, threatened, or whatever clears your name. I don't mind."

She took a pause and considered the Zeo/FBI issue.

"As for Zeo, I really hope he can stay out of it. But in any case, the feds will assume I'm the one to blame. With my past and all. So, you'll probably be enrolled as a witness. Maybe a victim, even. And all you have to do is tell the truth - that it was all my idea."

She sat back on the chair and looked up.

"See, Marc, I don't expect to off Tim and get on with my life. I know I'll get caught. But everyone else will have a chance. The only possibility I see is to finish that man off. For all of us. If I have to pay for it then, so be it. But I can't do that on my own."

At this point, Molly finished her errands and returned to the agency. She gave a curt nod at Marc and Elizabeth, then turned her attentions to Annabelle in the corner.

"Have you behaved?" she asked, and Annabelle nodded sweetly, smiling at the guilty expressions of the other two detectives.

"Very well, I believe we have some down time now, so what say you and I go get an ice cream?" Molly asked, but Annabelle shook her head and tugged on Molly's coat to get her to bend down.

"No, is it true you have treasures here?" she asked, lisping in a perfect imitation of childish wonder. None the wiser, Molly nodded and asked if she'd like to see them.

"Do you know their names?" Annabelle asked as she followed her mother, a tiny smile spreading over her lips. She had one in mind, one bargaining chip...
