Does anyone know how the level of favour cases is determined? Does it go up faster if you are completing more difficult cases? Based on skill or experience points? Age of detective??

I think it is connected to the number of cases you solved

Nop, I don't think that is it. I think it has to do with experience points, as it is definitely tied to playing more points.

But more cases, more experience points. True. :) But on one detective I played much harder cases, and I got the incredibly favours, much faster. Then I experienced on another, very I played many more games, but easier cases.

I bet the favor level changes from hard to really hard at about 100 successfully solved cases...

I've solved 104 cases, have 8520 exp. and am still getting hard cases for favours, if that helps anyone work it out!

It is the 10,000 exp that opens up the really hard favors. 100,000 will open inc. hard favors. Sorry, don't remember the breaks for the levels inbetween.

100,000 for inc. hard favours?! Worse than trying to get a new coloured star on eBay...

Thanks cfmdec, you are the only one that actually knew the answer for sure, that it is related to experience points.
