i thought this only happened in hard cases and up. it is happening in easy cases as well. is this something new?

Well, when one dies, it can have two ways out : That suspect can be (little chance) your only way to a new "lead" (my bribes are usually very expensive, so I always look for the suspects first). Or, it can "easen" your investigation, because if that one has a fake alibi, it's helping you out in a good way.

But, I think it's random. But see it this way. The more, the better... Except if you have too many suspects xD.
