Happy Holidays!!

The people of Wish On a Star would like to present the second of two contests we're sponsoring this year. We hope everyone has some fun with this one.

One of our favorite of the games among the Wish zoo is Corrupt A Wish (pun sorta deliberately intended ;-). We'd like to see what you all can create for wishes, and decide how you'd go about solving them, holiday style.

The Premise

You need to imagine a wish, then come up with a way to corrupt it (unlike the regular game, YOU will be doing both roles for this contest). All entries MUST include a holiday theme of some kind, based on any holiday taking place between December 1 and January 31 (you must specify which holiday you're choosing, but we're not picky which one you use).

The Rules

The rules are very simple. All entries *MUST be no more than 2000 characters (ie--One post).* The more detailed and creative you make your wish and corruption, the better it will be received by the judges (ie--a three-line entry is going to hit the dustbin fairly fast. This is for honor, glory, and PRIZES, people.) Spelling, punctuation, and grammar, as always, are part of the judging criteria, so make sure that spell-check is your new bestest-best-friend (might wanna include a stocking stuffer for it too; it's had a hard year. ;-). No, it doesn't have to be set in the Noir-era necessarily (though that will probably earn you bonus points with the judges). And no, it doesn't have to be mystery- or Noir-themed for a plot (though again, if you do manage to work some element of that into your creation, all the better ;-). All entries *MUST be submitted by December 31, 2009 at 11:59PM (ie--server turnover).*

The judges and prizes will be announced once we've received all the entries (we don't wanna reveal Santa's secrets too early, now do we?? ;-)

An example of a holiday Corrupt-A-Wish follows.

Good luck, happy imagining, and...

Happy Holidays from all of us at Wish!!

(cont)
The messenger was rather confused, but went back up on the stage. There a mini Santa just entered the throne, and got puffed up (even though it was a slower puffing up than before), and became a big Santa Claus. Another mini Santa appeared with a rednosed reindeer with the ordinary sleigh, and from another side a mini Santa appeared with an obviously reluctant man arguing with the bringer mini Santa: “I am no singer, you know I was the only one in my class who got excluded from song class because they said I terrified the others”… “That makes you a perfect match for her, she asked for someone on her level, and she is no singer herself”…”What if I don’t like her, or cant stay with her?” … “That’s no problem, she did not ask for someone who would last, you go there, you stay there at least for some hours, everything more than that will be considered a bonus”… “But, what if I don’t want to go with you?” … “You will!” the mini Santa said and tied him up so that he could not move nor utter a voice. The man was then put into a nice gifting box, and put at the back of the sleigh. Santa Claus from the throne went to the sleigh, and the mini Santa asked: “You know the way?”, and the Santa Claus answered yes, he did, but he said he hoped that it would be ok even if it was late and almost new years eve… “We consider it’s good, and consider it done” the mini Santa said, “now, off you go” " and the Santa Claus left.
Unfortunately it was quite close to new years eve, and some of the neighbours to where Irene lived had started firing up some new years rockets… And, as must happen in all occations when wishes are corrupted, the sleigh with Santa Claus on was hit by a new years eve rocket, and being mostly airy things, they exploded with a puff, and vanished. Only the man in the gift box did not vanish, and fell down from the air hitting the chimney at Irene’s house, plumbing the chimney so that the smoke from the oven Irene had lit would go inside and make her faint.

Hm.... seems like I also corrupted luc's wish of keeping within a single post... I guess I will have to try to come up with something else...

Ok, a shorter version:

Wish: I wish Santa Claus would grant me a husband that makes me gasp for air!

Response:
Santa Claus searched and found a good husband, tied him up and put him in a gift box. Put the box on his sleigh and left for Irene. Unfortunately it was quite close to new years eve, and some of the neighbours to where Irene lived had started firing up some new years rockets… And, as must happen in all occations when wishes are corrupted, the sleigh with Santa Claus on was hit by a new years eve rocket, and made the sleigh with Santa Claus explode with a puff, and vanish. The man in the gift box did not vanish though, so he fell down from the air hitting the chimney at Irene’s house, plumbing the chimney so that the smoke from the oven Irene had lit would go inside and make her faint.

I'd like to thank you both, Sunniva and Irene, for your incredible patience. Unfortunately, due to Real Life issues, Wish was unable to close out these contests in a timely fashion, for which we apologise.

The first place winner for the Holiday Corrupt A Wish is Sunniva, who will receive $100,000 SleuthDollars.

Therefore, Irene is our runner-up, and the recipient of $50,000 SleuthDollars.

Congratulations to you both!!

Now, everyone please go enter Violet Parr's contest!!

just so Violet Parr's comp doesn't get lost, I'm untricking this, but I'm sure it'll be on page 1 for a while.
