Hello all.
I'm fairly new to Sleuth and I thought I might share a little hobby of mine with you all. Here's something for that sad moment when the mysteries of the day are all done.

Thousands lay up gold within this house,
but no man made it.
Spears past counting guard this house,
but no man wards it.
What is it?

Sorry to disappoint Madame Giry but Llolly was right. This isn't so much a riddle as a ice-breaker. List the numbers one to nine down a piece of paper. Next to no 1 and 3 write two boys names, next to 2 and 4 write names that could be either a girls or boys name, next to 5 write a colour, next to 6 write the name of an animal and next to 7, 8 and 9 write song titles. I will post tomorrow what the pattern should mean.

Here's a couple of riddles before I go!

When air is still and water is calm
You will find me every place;
But come wind or falling rain
I go and hide without a trace:
You know doubt hate the tiny gifts
That I bestow each time I feed;
But as I give, I also take
For you contain the gift I need.
What?

A man walks into a pub & sits down at the bar and orders a glass of water. The bar tendor looks at the man, then he quickly pulls out a shotgun and points it at the man. The man says, "Thank you," then leaves the bar. Why did they behave this way?

I overlooked another one that's good, then I'll be back tomorrow and check the answers.

A man kills his wife, and many people watch him doing so. Yet, nobody will ever be able to accuse him of murder...........why?

Daru, is the first one a mosquito?
The second one the man had hiccups and needed a glass of water to cure them. Instead, the bartender scared him to get rid of the hiccups.
Third one, not sure, but maybe it is a movie, so you cannot accuse him of murder...
