Hello all.
I'm fairly new to Sleuth and I thought I might share a little hobby of mine with you all. Here's something for that sad moment when the mysteries of the day are all done.

Thousands lay up gold within this house,
but no man made it.
Spears past counting guard this house,
but no man wards it.
What is it?

Okay, I think I know the answer to the canaries. Canaries need gravity to swallow(learned this in biology today), so they will not be able to swallow in space, like humans.

Alright, one more, sorry.

The more you add me to a box, the lighter the box becomes. What am I?

R. Sweets!!!!!! WOOOOW! You are right. It is true that birds need gravity to swallow, unlike humans who can even swallow hanging upside down.

Jstkdn: That's a load of rubbish and I'm officially protesting. The bird-feeder was a far more sensible answer : o )

Just for that, you're wrong on the sequence - the answer was S-D. It's the word 'standardised' with the voweles removed, so : o P

:p Someone is being sore looser here? :) :)
Not only did someone with english as a second language get your sequence right. My riddle was so simple, that someone still going to school could solve it. Yes I am pretty impressed with R. Sweets!

All about the house with his lady he dances. Yet he always works and never romances. - Broom!

There're two computer games I know ago which feature alot of riddles. I'll try to think of my own, but here's one from there:
You tie these things,
Before you go.
And untie them,
After you stop.
