Hello all.
I'm fairly new to Sleuth and I thought I might share a little hobby of mine with you all. Here's something for that sad moment when the mysteries of the day are all done.

Thousands lay up gold within this house,
but no man made it.
Spears past counting guard this house,
but no man wards it.
What is it?

Edgar Allen Poe wrote on both a writing desk and a raven.

I don't know if he walked over carpet majandra, but it is in any case not relevant.

There is something that is nothing, but it has a name. It joins our walks; it joins our talks; it plays in every game. What is it?

Three riders riding by, three pears hanging high. Each man takes a pear,
but still leave three hanging there. How?

A man jumped 150 feet entirely under his own power. He landed safely. How could this be?

try these on for size

well, jstkdn, the thing about chickens is that they dont instantly die when their heads are cut off, they run around in circles for about ten seconds then drop dead,

Fonzie's right. Ngah.

A shadow.

Either the riders are women or there are three pears hanging low.

The man had a parachute on.

she got the first one, the second one i'm getting confuse about what she put, and if he had a parachute on, he'd be falling, not jumping

It says each man took a pear, but it doesn't say that each rider took a pear. The riders might not be men.

It also says three pears hanging high, but it doesn't say that those are the only three pears. (Okay, that's a bit of a stretch.)

Maybe it was too hard. No one could have known what Mrs Shady was dreaming if she died in her sleep, or right after immediately. :)

At request of Fonzie, another one....

What occurs once in every minute, twice in every moment, yet never in a thousand years?
