Hello all.
I'm fairly new to Sleuth and I thought I might share a little hobby of mine with you all. Here's something for that sad moment when the mysteries of the day are all done.

Thousands lay up gold within this house,
but no man made it.
Spears past counting guard this house,
but no man wards it.
What is it?

PP, I'd say the poor snowdude melted. :)

Has anyone asked about the man who lies dead in a cabin on the side of a mountain? Just stop me if yes.

A man lies dead in a cabin on the side of a mountain. What happened?

The man died in a plane crash. ;) The cabin being referred to is the cabin of a jetliner, not a mountain cabin.

Here's a few more. Remember: don't assume.

1) It is a stormy, snowy day. There is a man dead inside a shack. There are no windows and the only door is locked from inside. There is no way in or out. The man has a stab wound. There is a puddle of water and blood next to him. How did he die?

2) Preston and his men searched the frozen tundra for escaped convict Ben Barker. Just as they were about to give up, one of Preston's men spotted a body. Barker was found lying dead in the snow. There were no tracks leading to or from the body. The cause of death was partially due to the unopened pack on his back. Barker did not die of thirst, hunger, or cold. What was in Barker's pack that led to his death?

3) A woman leaves home and makes three left turns. She returns home again. On the way, she passed two women with masks. Who were the two women?

They're really too easy if you use common sense.

Naimin,

1. He was killed by an icicle that stabbed him

2. The pack on his back was a parachute that didn't open when skydiving

3. We just had this one, but they were males, either way it is the catcher and umpire of a softball game

How about the pool one? I'm sort of restarting this thread I found in "Moderator picks".

A man goes to a swimming pool and swims 50 lengths of breaststroke. The pool is 25m (82 ft) long and 12 (39 ft) wide. It is 1m (3 ft) in the shallow end and after 15m (49 ft) it shelves at 45 degrees to a depth of 2.5m (8 ft). How much water is needed to fill the pool?

Hi. May I tell you a riddle? I'm so sorry. It is a simple riddle.

I have black and white stripes.
I am not a animal.
I am a mammal.
What am I?
