Hello all.
I'm fairly new to Sleuth and I thought I might share a little hobby of mine with you all. Here's something for that sad moment when the mysteries of the day are all done.
Thousands lay up gold within this house,
but no man made it.
Spears past counting guard this house,
but no man wards it.
What is it?

Remind me... the sign was inside the car, right? But not on or in the dashboard? Was it in plain sight? Could people outside the car see the sign as well? Did the wife see it?
Was there a discernable amount of time between his seeing the sign and his shooting his wife? Or was it more of a knee-jerk reaction?

Was the sign intended to be viewed outside the car, but actually inside, like a Baby on Board sign?
Did his wife put the sign in the car?
Was the sign actually part of the car in any way?
Are there any other relevant people in this riddle?

Was it an object belonging to the "other man"? The wife? The husband?

Was the sign some aspect of his wife? Was she possibly pregnant? And the husband knew he couldn't be the father?
