Ok Ok I know we have threads about what you do for real and why you picked your name and all that. But this is more of a what traits do you and your detective share...ie are you stubborn, very inquisitive, quick witted? and then the other side of this is what are some traits your detective has that you yourself would like to have?

Well since I started this I will go first.

I actually tied abit of my own past into Charlie's past. I just had to change the era. I am a Marine Corps vet. And I am a war vetern. I see Charlie as a very stubborn guy. Once he starts something hes gonna see it through. And I am like that as well. I really dont like to quit anything at all. Charlie is a very quiet guy until he gets to know you better. And I am definately very quiet. Most people think I am rude or stuck up but really I am very shy I like to get a feel for the person before I put myself out there. Online I am totally different so you have probably never known me to be too quiet on the boards. Charlie is also a fiercly loyal friend to the friends he has. Again that is something we have in common. The last thing we have in common is the fact the we both keep a very cool head in the most intense situations. Charlie is also a bit of a loner he prefers to work alone. I tend to do that as well I like working by myself.

Now for the things we dont have in common....well first off Charlie is a smoker...I quit that habbit a few years ago. Charlie is also a bit of a drinker and I am a recovering alcoholic...*gasp from the audience* other traits are Charlie has a tendancy to let his anger get him in trouble. I am very good at controlling my temper. I think thats really it though I consider Charlie a work in progress. Please feel free to tell us about your detective. You dont have to be as um...open about the real you if you dont want to be.

oh yeah then theres the obvious difference...Charlie looks alot like Robert Downey Jr. and I look nothing like that....more of a well youll never know will you....haha

Geez,am I like my character,Vulkie? Well,let's see. Hmm,very action based and always on the move (sounds like me though). But I'm just a student at the moment,but I always take actions and I'm always doing something.

Vulkie is also a bit emotional,which I really am in real life (guess xD). Maybe it has something 2 do with my mother's passing away when I was 4,that's why I'm being "too" emotional.

Also,dramatical. Yeah,let's see... Hmm,in RL,no,but here,yes xD.

Stubborn,definitely xD. Well,who isn't? And... a loving character. Why yes. A true friend? Yes

Things not in common... Well,Vulkie "drinks" a lot,while I don't in RL. I've also added smoking,but in RL,I have a reason not to smoke (my mother etc.). Ehm... Well,that's about it for Vulkie and me in RL...

So,who does Vulkie look like? Hmm,I haven't thought of that yet. Maybe a kind of Arnold Schwarzenegger/Johnny Depp/the bold and the beauty actress in one character xD.

Well,that's for me then. But what about you,detective....?

That's actually a very interesting topic of discussion Charlie...

Hmmm let's see... Well I am a lawyer, and that is Violet's background, she's a retired lawyer -which really helps in writing her RP. Purple is my favourite colour. I also don't drink and she has a strong aversion to alcohol. We both don't smoke as well. We're both left handed and have dark hair & a light olive skin tone... I think that's about it.

As for the differences... I am neither as inquisitive nor as curious. She's probably more independent than I am and more of a risk taker. I would not take risks or involve myself in anyone else's business no matter the reason. I'm definitely more emotionally secure than she is -the purple outfits, the striving for perfection and display of ridiculously well-kept manners I take as a sign of her fear and insecurity. She’s a Gemini and I’m a Cancer.

I guess she's English, and aside from my own country, I love England more than any other.

I probably have much more in common with her brother Leopold, for anyone who reads the RP threads. Meeting him is much more like meeting me.

Violet is kind and I would like to think of myself as kind-natured and good-hearted as well. I suppose that's all that really matters at the end.

Hm, Molly Maltese...

Well as a lot of you know I have a theater background, and actors and actresses tend to have a type of character that they are more comfortable performing than others, which results in typecasting, I suppose. If Molly Maltese was a stage character, I'd definitely be right at home with her. She's the type of character I'm very good at, which is ironic because in real life I possess few of those qualities. Thats the fun of acting. She is both seductive, flirty and charming, with a quick wit and a quicker smile. She's a definite swaggerer. But beneath that she's very calm, analytical and intelligent, and extremely manipulative. She knows just what buttons to push, so to speak.

When not onstage, I'm not necessarily shy, but guarded around strangers. I don't particularly like meeting new people but once I have then I'm perfectly fine. I detest talking on the phone, too! She doesn't.

I can't really compare Molly to myself, since she's a persona I only play when performing. But a fun and interesting one at that!

There are some differences that M. Lacrimosa and I have. Although we have the same name, (I named my detective after me) I am very much different in personality. Detective Marc Lacrimosa, uses brutal methods to make people talk while I myself, am not a real violent person. I'm actually pretty peaceful. So if anything, I'm not really like my detective.

I thought this was a good topic to discuss to Violet. Thank you to those who have shared so far. I think it opens up a bit about our detectives that our bio's dont really do justice for.

Joseph Zeo is more the inner me, the side which people seldom see. I based the character somewhat on my older brother as well: a very heavy smoker, cool headed but with the inability to convey feelings. I love all the flaws JZ have, it's what make him human.

One thing that's common between JZ and myself is that we're both somewhat a workaholic. We both love and hate the fact that our job is very important to our identity, although I know that this is not what life is about at all. JZ and I both like to figure things out in our head, so remember not to write too many conversations or action items for JZ when your RP part involves him (^o^) Oh, also, both JZ and I have two left feet. He is tall, thin and non-athletic, but a good shooter. That's me as well.

Difference. In RL I can seem pretty out going and cheerful, but like JZ, at times i just like to keep to myself. I have quit smoking, so whenever i write that JZ lights up, it sorta curb my own cravings. I am left handed in RL but JZ is right handed. He has problem reaching out to those he loves, I have problem keeping myself away from my beloved. JZ is a serious man, I on the other hand (if you've ever been in the chat room with me) goes with the flow and can be pretty silly (^.^)

One way that Anais and I are alike... we both love cherries! :D

Seriously now... I have many characters, and all of them are like me in some way, even if the way is being the exact opposite of me. Anais is my character who has the most story line behind her, and is the most developed. We both tend to keep our sadder emotions under wraps, and bottle things up. Another thing is that we both care. Probably too much, actually, about everyone before ourselves.

Anais is a bit quieter than I am, but she has also had sooooo many horrible things happen to her in her life. I haven't, thankfully. She is also more serious, but I think that is due to her being older than me, and all the stuff she has gone through.

In terms of physical, Anais passes out way way way more than I do, and she *hic* also get*hic*s the *hic* hic*hic*cups qui*hic*te a *hic* bit. HIC! ((Ok, ok, I'll stop...)) I'm taller, she has darker hair, I wear glasses, she doesn't, but we are both "slight" for a lack of a better word. ;)

Her family life is also much different than mine. I'm an only child, grew up with both of my parents, and lived in the same house my entire life... Anais... didn't. ;)

I'll probably think of more later, but that's what ya'll get for now. ;)
