There are different ways the real/fictional detectives capture the guilty people.
One of them is that you make some relation with the culprit like becoming his/her employee in most of the cases and in some cases, you try to make friends with that person. And when you find it is the right time, you accuse them for their guilt.
Can we do that in a scripted mystery?

now with less typos than ever before...

Erm, yeah kinda. If I give you a scenario where it might work...

Intro. You're approached by a client to solve a murder at his factory. You propose working undercover in the factory.

Crime Scene. You could visit the factory crime scene covertly before you start, or you could visit this when you are at work (without a victim and prob cleaned up, but there might still be evidence / clues to be collected).

Then all your suspects are co-workers / employees (or people attached to the factory that you'd have to visit after work hours or find exucuses to leave the building to see without arrousing the suspicions of whoever the murderer is.)

Yeah it could work.

Some pretty twists, and good suspect / witness chat could make it pretty thematic.

Remember though that whatever you choose, the detective is either male/female. Me, personally, I don't want to be set up as a tea lady on Bristish Rail. I don't have the knees for it.
