No one matches the clues!

I keep getting this over and over again: the fake suspects don't match the clues I get!
Does this happen a lot? It's really a pain. Everyone clams up or dies before I get to check who knows who did it.

Thats why you have to use the questiosn effectively and try to rule out as many people as possible.

I see that you are opting for tough and smart skills. that's good. if the fake suspects are not matching the clues, maybe you haven't yet gotten all the smart skills to detect all the PE yet. So i think the most important thing for you to do (if you haven't already), is to obtain the 4 basic smart skills (hair, note, thread, footprint). There are also ways to go about narrowing down your possibilities. Read this if you want to improve on your investigation techniques:

It's a bit lengthy so take your time. Implement a bit of the method at the time. As you practice more and more you will find that both your detective and the methods you use will improve.

It's sorta of must read for people in our agency, although no one really check if we really studied it or not. However, i do find it really useful, because it teaches us how to think. I just hope Shady ain't mad at me puttin' this link here, because recently he's raging about Gumshoes not using our heads and looking for short cuts and all... LOL
