Unfortunately I don't have a funny bone in my system. I have always been thinking about writing one that's funny, but if I'm the author, it'll just turn out to be sentimental, dark and old-school. I've seen some hilarious RPing on our board, rekon that maybe we can put together something that will wake up the dead?

(Editors, are we allowed to do that?)

Don't sell yourself short, Squirrel. You're pretty funny.

Certainly, humour is 'allowed'. As long as it does not set off any "completely inappropriate material" alarms!

LOL, yeah, humour often goes with 'completely inappropriate material', see Borat for examples (i love that movie, when i lend it to one of my politically correct friend, she turned off her DVD within ten minutes).

Now that we sorta get a green light from the editors, anyone interested in pairing up? (or write your own, i absolutely don't mind, just thought that i should contribute a bit) I'm thinking of anyone who wrote in the 'leg-end' RP... or anyone who's good with humor...

I shall give that a try.
When humor comes up in a dark mystery, it is really lively, funny and encouraging us to face whatever comes to us.

Here was my entry in Anais's competition: non-gender specifi, romantic sub-plot. Though mine leans towards the more practical sleuth non-generder specific relationship that two partners in detection might have.

...............

We were wrestling behind a sofa.

"I can't get it out!" Pat laughed softly.

"Now's not the time for frivolity." I whispered. "I need to... hey, ouch!"

My partner grunted. "It's stuck ... in your pocket".

I couldn't help but laugh.

We were meant to be searching the Cravitch Mansion for clues and here we were fooling round with an errant flashlight.

Rescued torch under chin, ghoul-like face illuminated, Pat moaned ever so quietly "Is there a spirit in the house?"

"Speaking of which," I snorted, "How much have you had to drink tonight?"

Pat flicked off the torch and kissed me, "Three sheets to the wind and a head full of steam Cap'n."

I decided not to try and wrestle with that little mixed metaphor. I pulled away from the taste of gin. "Clues". Is all I whispered.

Sighing, my partner took up the search with due diligence and we got back to business.

Great stuff SS, maybe Ghazanfar and you can consider working one together. Wish i can help, but i seriously do not have a good sense of humor.... i stick to my melancholic loner view of this cold cold world...

Why did that just make me laugh, then, JZ?

And very nice, SS. I like it!
