Everyone has suggestions for new things they would like to see in Sleuth. Well, this is a thread for those ideas. Just post a one or two line synopsis of your concept(s), with a small additional informational blurb if two lines is not enough to capture it. Discussions regarding specific ideas will take place in a separate thread, to keep this one running smoothly. Please do not include complaints, critiques, or other discussion on this thread, for purposes of flow. Anything that is not specifically done for the purpose of outlining an idea will be deleted.

All ideas will be considered; even if no discussion thread for them is immediately started, don't lose heart. Ready, get set, post!

This is an idea more for the players who still need skill points. :)

Can there be a count that tells you how many experience points are needed to recieve the next skill point? That would be really helpful! Thanks!

what do you have in mind michael? REmember subscribers can always start their own agency

A small agency basically have two choices when it comes to treasure hunts: Hunt treasures and get run over by Vampiric Crypt, or don't hunt treasures. ;)

This makes starting your own agency pretty useless if you ever want to go on a treasure hunt. Anyway, michael has a point, although I don't know if two alternative types of hunt is the sollution. As it is now it punishes subscribers for not joining existing and large agencies as they miss out on some of the action, and a sollution to that is needed.

A way to put money in your safe or at least to pay your agency rent while all agents are out of town would be great.

And a way to see how much money is in the safe while out of town would be great too. Perhaps this could be a bonus feature of having a clerk that you can "phone and ask".

An option to store the items you gain by making a favor in your house (when there's room for it) instead of the agency locker would be nice.

A few suggestions (previously posted), condensed into one post.
*********************************

Ability to pay to dump a contact. This has been discussed and argued to death, but at one point Ben DID sign off on it - the details were never really ironed out.

*********************************
Postal system to mail items to other sleuths, which they could pick up at the docks/station. Make it a bit pricey, and maybe add a day or two of shipping delay to avoid throwing off THs/AVHs. Much easier than switching agencies to trade equipment or making multiple trips overseas to stock your apartment.

*********************************
Pay a small flat fee to look under the counter at the detective shop. That's where the owner keeps favor items and some of the stuff sold by other detectives, now available at a reasonable markup. "Something real special came in today, but it'll cost you just to look. Hey, I got's kids to feed!" This serves dual purpose, making the shop more useful as well as adding a small element of gambling.

*********************************
On the negotiation/trap detection front I'd like to be able to use negotiation to get another lead on a new map once I trap out. Maybe finding out there's another map available right there in town - just do a favor for the right townie (no skill points spent, no travel required, just the time and cases spent tracking down the new map - closer to the punishment for being pirated). It would work similarly on the boat - get a new lead but still have to do a little legwork.
