Everyone has suggestions for new things they would like to see in Sleuth. Well, this is a thread for those ideas. Just post a one or two line synopsis of your concept(s), with a small additional informational blurb if two lines is not enough to capture it. Discussions regarding specific ideas will take place in a separate thread, to keep this one running smoothly. Please do not include complaints, critiques, or other discussion on this thread, for purposes of flow. Anything that is not specifically done for the purpose of outlining an idea will be deleted.

All ideas will be considered; even if no discussion thread for them is immediately started, don't lose heart. Ready, get set, post!

There have been so many replies to this thread that similar ideas have been condensed.

1) Apartments in another City/All Cities - Having apartments in other cities would provide too much help in cases played away from a detective's home cities.
2) AVHs/THs & Factions in Cairo - This is being considered.
3) Store items in apartments when completing case/favor/Prince's palace - This change is being considered for the case of completing AI cases and favors, but detectives would still need to travel to Shangri-la with equipment space to spare for collecting an item.
4) Checkboxes for Apartment Lockers - This is being considered.
5) Check contact PE without asking about everyone - This is being considered.
6) Sleuthetania style mini-city for Delhi-London - This is something that would be considered once the Sleuthetania has more content.
7) New Cities - As with #6, this would be considered at a later date.
8) Allow people to take from your apartment - Apartments are meant to be a private area, which is why people have not been able to remove things in the past.
9) Rewards for completing many VHs - This is being considered.
10) Super Villain Hunts - This is being considered.
11) One-use item purchased with skill points for bribery - This is not required, as most people with excess skill points do not have many problems needing to bribe anyone.
12) Responding to 2 from first post, reduce traps to even out 2 skills - ideas for evening out the two skills are being considered.
13) Shades Mass Messaging System - This is being considered.
14) Spend skill points on favors - This would skew Treasure Hunts too much.
15) Reasons to become faction representative - There is a reason to become a faction representative, you just need to find out what they are.

16) THs on the ship - Because of the nature of THs (the hunt for the right favor) and the nature of the ship (booted off when the ship makes port), it would be a more difficult TH than most (not to mention, incredibly expensive). However, if a round-trip ticket or longer voyage is implemented, shipboard hunts might be a viable option.
17) Skill to determine who evidence belongs to - This would make cases easier than they should be.
18) Game info page - There is a Game Info page already available. If you are unable to see it, there may be a reason why.

I don't know if this is possible, but it has always seemed incongruous to me that a townie who you are doing a favour for can clam up during the case. It would make a lot more sense if the townie acted like a contact for that particular case and give you all the help you need!

If 17) and 5) actually was the same idea, perhaps 17 would be acceptable, and 5 would become a skill?

I would suggest to add an option to delete private mysteries.

Heigh Leigh this is great. We know that Ben's busy so it's wonderful that our suggestions are being listened to and response given quickly. (Even if some ideas are rejected, we now understand it's for the right reasons.) A big thank you to you! Really appreciate all the stuffs you and the team (however small) have done, keep up the good work!

I posted this on another board thought it might be appropriate to post it here.

It was suggested that I post this idea here as something WE can do for sleuth.

On another site I used to play at the "free versus sub" was run much the same way as here. You got limited number of gameplay for free versus unlimited number of games for sub. You weren't allowed to join their "clubs" which were set up by members very much like our agencies. There were interclub tournies just like our TH and there were also community boards like this one. Pretty much the same type of site only board game based.

Anyway what they did have there that they don't have here is a Sponsor Board. Newbies would go in there and post that they would like a sponsor to buy them a sub. Anyone who chose to could go there and browse the list of newbies. Check out their stats. Message and chat to them if they chose to and maybe buy them a sub. The length of the gift sub was at the sponsors discretion and also anonymity with the purchase was a big point. I never found out who purchased my first month for me.

But what it did do was show newbies all the things they were missing. And more often than not the newbies would stay and find their own way of subbing when their time was up. Admittedly there were repeat posters who just wanted to coast on the goodness of other people but the communication between senior members/friends etc pretty much put paid to that. And having an open board like that made it pretty obvious which people kept coming back month after month.

This is just my opinion and I don't have the numbers so I can't say for a fact that it works to bring and keep new members but from my experience, my taste of sub made me want to buy a sub and I did. And I know others who were sponsored in and found the means to stay bbecause of their enjoyment of the site.

A sponsor board also keeps the newbies here for longer because they hang around for a while to see if they are success

Think I wrote this before somewhere...can't remember where...well, anyway, I'd like to see more gambling minigames around the cityes. Love the race track. A casino wouldn't hurt.
