Picture this. I was working on a favor at Incredibly Hard level. The Crime Scene revealed 2 curly hairs and two threads that belonged to a woman. Two suspects (Agatha and Madonna) clammed up right from the start so I couldn't tell if they had a valid alibi or not.

I could determine that the 2 hairs belonged to suspects with a valid alibi. I suspected that one of the two clammed up suspects was the killer. The tailor however clammed up at the very first question. I asked the other suspects for witness evidence and always asked about Agatha first. They either clammed up or said they didn't suspect Agatha. At the end I had to quit the case and found out the killer was indeed Agatha.

Did I overlook something or was it just not meant to be solved at all?

I was hoping to eliminate one suspect by either getting witness evidence or, as you said, if everyone else but one said they didn't suspect her it would have been worth the risk.

Anyway, I assume it is statistically inevitable that every now and then you get cases like this. As a matter of fact it would be extremely boring if you always managed to find your culprit ;]

hehe, you are right indeed, T.E., it would be boring :) Have to add excitement (or frustration) in there somewhere : )

Some cases are truly impossible. Today, I had a case where my only lead, other than my client, clammed up, forcing me to find more. After that, I had three more people clam on me before alibis. To top it off, I had three hairs and an unidentified thread... when I have the note person in London. Finally, I managed to find all but one suspect... who I later found out was the murderer.

So, yep, some cases are just too danged hard! lol
