Place: Docks
Time: 11:30 p.m.
Weather: Freezing cold

"What the heck am I doing here?", the woman muttered under her breath. She let out a deep sigh, seeing something similar to fog coming out of her lips. It was a very cold night, indeed. The dark-haired, Italian-looking woman looked at her pocket watch.

"Late, as usual", she stated to herself, since she was alone. She had the habit of talking to herself. It helped her put ideas on the right places. And, as a bonus, helped her feel less lonely.

"You know, girl, you should never have agreed to meet him. But yet you did. Why? Because you're stupid."

She shook her head. No. It had nothing to do with stupidity. Or the feelings she had to admit she still had, partially. It was the box. The box with some of her things he still held with him. He had it, she needed it. That sounds like a pretty good reason for an encounter. An encounter, not a date, by the way. Dating time was over.

"You should be resting, Tina", she told herself. She usually gave herself pretty good advice. She never followed it, though. Another look at the watch. It reminded her. It had been a gift from him. She'd better return it. She let out a tired sigh. "I'll be here by ten. Yeah, right. When hell freezes over."

She was considering the idea of leaving when she heard footsteps. HIS footsteps, unmistakeable. She had to fight the temptation to jump on his neck with a tight hug, like before. She simply held out her hand and nodded. She didn't trust herself to speak right at the moment.

[P.S.: I don't have a big plan, and I know it's not perfect, but I'd love if someone joined. I promise I won't forget to check it out. lol]

Valentina relaxed a bit when Zeo agreed to leave Vulkie right where she was. The Italian girl took a deep breath, calculating what she had to take from home. Money, of course, her second pistol - pistols where the only guns Tina trusted -, some clothes she couldn't do without...

The girl bit her lip. She had to get the house empty. But, how? What Zeo didn't now - actually, nobody else - was the reason why she had resigned her old agency and tried to erase her trace. Family. Her family. Her baby sister needed her. She had gotten really ill two years ago, and they only had each other. Her sister had gotten better afterwards, and she got back to work. But not in the same agency. Not with Zeo, and that girl. She couldn't stand to see it.

By the time they reached the point in front of a bakery, Tina told Zeo to stop.

"Here is where we split up. I'll go home, grab some stuff I need and... well, then we'll meet at the Tricky Mister. DON'T ask questions, don't follow me. It'll be better off that way. All right?"

'Tina's full of mysteries,' Zeo thought as they parted company. For all the years they worked together, Zeo realized he never bothered to ask about D'Angeli's background. Was that why they never truly got together? Perhaps it was too late now, but Zeo decided to help Tina as much as he could. She seemed to be in deeper trouble than she was willing to reveal.

As much as Zeo tried to protect people around him from danger (often by dissociating himself from others), he knew D'Angeli was the same. That much he understood of Tina. They were two sides of the same coin.

He needed to find out more about this Domino character, and why he was after D'Angeli's object. The man was good; he easily corrupted Vulkie. Zeo haven't seen or heard about him before. He wondered where the man was from. Zeo decided to start his investigation with the tobacco company. That distinct scent from the fat man's cigar still lingered at the back of Zeo's head.

When Vulkie woke up,she was rubbing her eyes. As she got to the living room, she saw that nobody was there. Also, some stuff were moved around. Joseph and Valentina must've given me the slip while I was asleep. As Vulkie entered the kitchen, she saw some leftovers and an omelet left for her, with a coded message. I grabbed some paper and a pencil and started decoding the message. ''Hope you enjoy omelet. Must go. Meet at Tricky Master bar. Joseph.''

Vulkie quietly ate her omelet and drank a little glass of milk with it. She knew Valentina couldn't trust her anymore, but Joseph still trusted Vulkie.

As she was leaving the house, Vulkie knew she was being followed. She began to running towards an alley but a car blocked her way. ''GET IN'' an angry voice yelled. She had no choice.

''You doublecrossing piece of dirt.'' the angry voice said. It was the fat man,Domino. ''Where are the items?'' he asked. ''I don't know.'' Vulkie replied.

The car stopped a few blocks from the Tricky Master bar. Vulkie went out of the car and a man approached. The window of the fat man scrolled down and he whispered something.

''Enjoy yourself'' the fat man said, laughing.

The man who talked to the fat man took Vulkie's arm and pulled her into an alley. Vulkie got a nasty beating and was left in the gutter.

As the man left,Vulkie coughed some blood up and crawled towards the Tricky Master bar.

Just as she arrived there,Joseph and Valentina came around the corner...

Valentina thanked Zeo when he dropped her off not to far to her street.

"Thanks, Joe. I'll met you at the bar, and I won't be long. Be careful".

She waited for him to get out of her sight before moving torwards her street. A chill ran down her spine. As much as she hated to admit it, she felt safer around him. But, at the current situation, none of them was safe. Vulkie, especially, wouldn't be anywhere near by safe if she had a chance to lay hands on her.

With these thoughts in mind, she unlocked her door.

"Fiorella? I'm home, carina.", she called out, to get no answer. Strange. Fiore never left the house alone. She sat on the couch for a while, taking deep breaths and trying to stay calm. Fiore was her baby sister, and she had practically raised the girl. Two years ago, Fiore had gotten ill, and she had dropped off the agency and everything else to care for her. Everything, even Zeo, the only man she had ever...

"Stop it. Now.", she ordered hersef, standing up.

What was that smell? Something metallic. Blood?

"Oh, God, please, no!", she screamed, as she ran to Fiorella's room to see her worst nightmare in vivid colors. She was laying there, her throat slit and a cigar on her right hand. It took all her strenght not to fall on her knees. She swallowed hard, a bitter taste on her throat.

After a minute, she turned around and went to her room. She picked up her old gun, a silver piece with her innitials in ruby on the handle. The fat man deserved that distinction. She loaded it, picked up some clothing, her sleeping pills - even though she felt she'd never sleep again - and went outside. She placed her bag on the street and soaked the house in everything alchoholic she had, before lighting up a match. She watched her home burn down. Now, she had no place to go. Not that it mattered, without Fiore.

She then met Joseph so they could talk about the next step. She was totally pale, even her lips had no color, but she said nothing about (...)

(...)what had happened. "Not now", she said, when Zeo asked what was wrong.

By the time they entered the bar, her dark eyes laid on Vulkie. "You had it coming", she grinded through her teeth, showing no sympathy at all.

"But you guys want to discuss the plan. My plan is to find that bastard and shove his cigar down his throat. Then, I'll slit his throat as he did to my little sister. With or without your help."

She stopped talking and looked for Zeo's hand, holding it with her own ice cold right hand.

The words on the street was that Domino was from the South, a city in Costa Rica called Limon. Drugs, arms you name it, he deals in it. The reason for his appearance in the Big Apple was unknown though, although speculation around the underworld had it that he was looking for some important political document.

With what Zeo found out, he returned to Tricky Mister, only to find an ashen faced D'Angeli who refused to talk at first, and revealed about a dear deceased sibling who died under Domino's cold hand. D'Angeli's fingers were ice, Zeo grabbed hold of her and never wanted to let go. In secret he vowed to avenge her sister's death or he shall never rest.

"I know I deserved it,I betrayed you both" Vulkie said, looking down towards her lap. Vulkie knew she did an awful thing, but the money could come in handy. "The last thing I heard about Domino is that he was going back to Costa Rica, while his people search for this... Document..." Vulkie replied. Vulkie heard it from the man who beaten her almost to unconsciousness. "We can use the money to get some boat tickets, when the time is right..." Vulkie said.

Joseph was going to discover what this document was,by going to his ears and eyes of all the factions. Valentina went towards a friend's house to get some rest and mourn about her sister. And I stayed behind, with my Bloody Mary drink. I sipped from time to time.

And as time passed,I started to think about my adventures...

Valentina couldn't simply stay there, looking at Vulkie. No matter how much she wanted to be with Zeo, she had stuff to do. She apologized to him, saying she didn't feel well - perfectly understandable, after what had happened - and was heading to some house where she could rest during the night.

She walked, though the house was quite far away. Walking gave her time to think and cry for a while. After she got to the girl's house, she told her what had gone on, before taking a hot shower, refusing a meal and going to bed. She slept for nearly twenty-four hours, and woke up feeling strangely empty. The first thought in her mind was Zeo. She took the phone and called him.

As he picked up, she stayed silent for a while, before speaking, in a tired but warm voice.

"I need you, Joe. Where can we meet?"
