I am writing an Intro right now and I was wondering what is acceptable language for Sleuth?

I thought it would be a good thing to know for this intro and for SMs.

I can PM an editor what I want to say and then they can tell me if it is okay or not, if you'd like.

Thank you!

:D

We're not completely against bad language for intros and SM's but as it's designed to be 13+ you are a bit limited to what you can say. Generally we say if it's fitting and necessary to the plot then sure go for it. If the story can live without it leave it out.

That's my short but sweet answer. I'm sure Anikka or Squirrel could probably elaborate more than me about it :)

By all means if you want to send one of us a message saying what you want to say go ahead.

Yes send Ms Helen a PM with all the swear words you would like to use, she will then subtract those inappropriate and, no doubt, in some cases add words in an effort to broaden your vocabulary.

LOL! Thanks, I just have two friends talking and I feel like they wouldn't be proper, language-wise, with each other, you know?

I will send that Helen.

Thanks!

I doubt there'd be much wrong with an occasional 'damn', 'hell', or even a 'bugger off, moron', in the right situation. I do have the feeling though, that the higher up the Seven Deadly Words list you go, the more resistance you'll run into from our illustrious staff. Make sense? ;-)

(And dear Ms. Helen's got the voice of an Angel. *wink* ;-)
