In an effort to liven up the boards again, some of us have decided to resuscitate the Daily pub quiz but we will be doing

it on a weekly basis. This is a tribute to the original founder, jstkdn. We have decided to take turns coming

up with the questions. The team consists of myself, Ms. Helen, nicnic and detectivehappy.

1. Each week we will post 10 questions.
2. Each Quiz runs exactly one week.
3. The first person that has all 10 questions right, wins. Or if no one has all questions right, the best one wins.
4. You can only post answers ONCE for the same quiz.
5. No cash involved. Just glory. :)

If we can't google then how we supposed to work out the answers? Is googling any different to me going to the library to look it up in a book?

And I'm with Lorelei.........I got those 2 bonus questions straight up but the rest have me stumped.

Googling isn't allowed basically because it would only take a person about 5 minutes or less to find the answers (on a bad day, prob'ly). If you've actually got the gumption to hike all the way down to the library, pore through a book, and come up with the answers on your own, go for it!!

As for how you're s'pposed to work out the answers, basically, it's meant to be a straight "how much is in your brain" sort of a quiz. Some people happen to know a lot about trivia in general, some only on certain topics, some just on popular culture, and some wouldn't know any trivia if their life depended on it.

You're not expected to know ALLLLLL the answers (that's why we came up with some of the questions we did.). It's meant to be a gauge of how much general knowledge you have.

Again, if you're actually up to schlepping down to the library and researching these, go for it. (Some of these answers you won't FIND on the internet. You may find them if you find the right book. ;-).

So.

Good luck, and happy reading!! ;-D

And i challenge you to find the answer to bonus #5 without sitting (or sleeping) through several hours of bonehead, er introductory anthropology classes. Or maybe, if you are Squirrel, spending several weeks with one of the Mongolian peoples. (Hint: it's not in a book but can be figured out through observation ... or listening scrupulously to the prof's lecture.)
