*Cryptic Sleuth* (kind of.. they're probably more riddle-esqe)

So here's a quick competition that will end on Monday Night at clockover.

I used to do this on and off for the Pub Quiz coz it's not something you can Wiki :)

Just identify your fellow Sleuth from the clues below. They vary in difficulty.

Of course you'll probably need some basic knowledge of who is about, and I've had to trawl the agencies memberships, and read the City News / Villain Hunts / Treasure Hunt / High Score Boards to find some myself. *hint*

Oh yes there's a one month sub on offer, or if you don't want it, you can just have the accolade of being cleverer than everyone else.

In the event 2 people have all the answers it'll be the first person who gets them into me. Them's the breaks... the tie-breaks that is. :s

Last thing... DON'T POST YOUR ANSWERS HERE.

PM me Secret_Squirrel using the internal Sleuth Mail System with your answers.

I'll post the answers on Monday Night, and announce who won, and how you all did.

................ CRYPTIC SLEUTH .................

Example. Which feline lover left the light on? Breitkat (get it? Bright-Cat.)

1. She comes from a extremely long line of very special girls.

2. Agatha's Belgian needs an assistant...

3. I can't find Marty anywhere. Or Mary... hmmm or Martha!

4. Donna get down off of there!

5. She's a slow bird.

6. I foresee a nasty accident with a deep fat frier in your future.

7. Tennis anyone? No? Then how about Cards? You're guaranteed to lose.

8. Beer Mac? No thank you, I make my own.

9. Every four months you just have to let it all hang out.

10. A mere maid! Come, come, now... Oh I misheard, your dancing distracted me.

11. When I greet the morning a monster is the last thing I expect to see!

12. She's very keen on gumshoes.

13. These glasses aren't quite rose-tinted, but they're good enough to make my golf score seem average.

DON'T POST YOUR ANSWERS HERE... PM me .

Good luck!

Ok here are the answers. Winner TBA in a minute when I total up.

1. She comes from an extremely long line of very special girls. (AmazingAmanda253)

^ This was apparently a tricky one for everyone, and I had this classified as one of the easier ones.

2. Agatha's Belgian needs an assistant... (Poirot's Protege)

3. I can't find Marty anywhere. Or Mary... hmmm or Martha! (cfm)

^ Ok I knew no-one was going to get this. Can't Find Marty were initials, and the different names were a reference to no-one knowing what cfm stood for... a very hard one, yes. Though if you'd checked the old pub quiz thread there was a similar clue for cfm last time round!

4. Donna get down off of there! (topkebab)

^ Donner Kebab!

5. She's a slow bird. (turtledove)

6. I forsee a nasty accident with a deep fat frier in your future. (psychicpotato)

7. Tennis anyone? No? Then how about Cards? You're guaranteed to lose. (Acemaster)

8. Beer Mac? No thank you, I make my own. (Mackenzie Brewer)

9. Every four months you just have to let it all hang out. (Reckless April)

This was hard too and kudos to those who got it. I originally had 'Some months', so it could have been harder...

10. A mere maid! Come, come, now... Oh I misheard, your dancing distracted me. (Mamba Mermaid)

11. When I greet the morning a monster is the last thing I expect to see! (Dawn Dragon)

^ Ok this was hard too.

12. She's very keen on gumshoes. (detectivehappy)

13. These glasses aren't quite rose-tinted, but they're good enough to make my golf score seem average. (Violet Parr)

BRB!

Ok the winner is: ctown28! with 11/13.

Nice job only missing 1 & 3.

ctown has passed on the sub and wants only the pats on the back and adulation of his adoring fans. Or something like that. :D

Everyone else will be able to tally their own scores, and know how they did, but in general everyone was very close, within one to two points of each other. No-one completely bombed.

Thank you all, I expect the insults now to fly about my dodgy clues.

Oh and extra kudos to (a) Carolyn Spark who had biggie528 as the answer to No. 12. That made me chuckle.

and (b) Lolita who for someone new to Sleuth knew a heck of a lot more than I would have at the same point in time!

Thanks for playing.

Squirrel out!

* bows. I didn't know. I researched. You told us to search the top scorers so I trawled them all! I got quite a few wrong though.

I had pengueneer for a slow bird and I got Martina (Marty Na as in nah/no/nope) for can't find Marty. I can't believe I missed PsychicPotato. I was frying my Kebab! LOL. Sorry tk, I hope it wasn't too hot in there! LOL

This wasn't too difficult. Heck any of these things are easy enough when you sit around doing nothing and making people like nic and Ms Helen do all the work. Some may call it cheating! I call it delegating responsibility! Maybe thats why I'm such a good leader! ;-)
