Tick. Tock. Tick. Tock. Tick. Tock.

I glanced up at the large clock again. Each tick and each tock drove my mind farther back into the past. A past I had left behind ten long years before. A past I was facing now.

But first came the waiting. I hate waiting.

I glanced around the station again. Deserted. Not a soul in sight. Strange, considering that this used to be a bustling train station ten years ago. I pulled the letter out of my shoulder bag to look at it again.

"Anais, Be at Winchester Station, Platform 7 at 23.00, 2/15. ~Lisette"

Lisette. Could I really face her after all this time? Well, I was about to find out. With a shaking hand, I shoved the letter deep into my bag. Where was she? It was 23.17. Lisette had never been late in the twenty plus years I had known her. What was going on?

((Sorry guys, I'm getting confused here. In the beginning Lisette had a statuette, we opened it, found a clue, and hence began our scavenger hunt. That statuette was last mentioned Feb 19 11:08, and no one ever wrote that it was lost.

Up to the point when we entered the Nin's old residence, we don't know what object we were looking for (didn't say in the previous hint). According to Vulkie, the crooks threw the ''treasure'' out of the window, and Father Manfred grabbed it. According to Ace, we threatened Manfred to let us have that statue... (so i guess Ace noticed that it's a STATUE the crooks threw at Manfred? are we all agreeing on that? and that statue is different from the statuette at the beginning of the story? Ace please confirm. thanks.)

According to Lolita, Anais said Fredo knows how to use the statue, and that he kept himself from dying... However, (1) Fredo never owned that statue (2) Sounds like you need to use it within the church, according to what the Teddy Bear parchment say; but Fredo had been 'regenerating' long before we reach the church scenes...

Okay, everyone have been amazingly creative and we got a wonderfully fun story going. As long as we keep the story straight, I'm sure we'll all pull this through :) May I suggest that Anais found out the treasure (the statue) contains the power to bring life and death, and we leave it at that (without dragging Fredo back from the fiery grave). Lolita it's your call, other characters in the story don't know about it yet, so you can still work with it.

So, we've Anais and Lolita on the first floor, finding out what the treasure actually do (btw, that's a good one Lolita), Lisette chaining Joseph to her, wandering nearby somewhere (i'll try to straighten that one out in my next post), finally Ace and Vulkie heading to search the third floor (not 2nd?). Okay guys, let's try to straighten out this exciting story. Happy writing!))

"Ouch, Lisette, you're breaking my arm!" I grumbled.

“Well, that’s for trying to lose me!!” Lisette continued to jerk me forward as she ran up a flight of stairs. It was actually Vulkie’s idea, but I was as guilty for not standing up for her. Honestly, I was a bit disappointed when I realized we couldn’t ditch Lisette. The girl was absolutely impossible to shake off.

“I’m confused, are we looking for a statue? What does it look like?” I asked.

“Shut up! Are YOU the one who got banged your head? We’re looking for the treasure. What more do you need to know?” Lisette snarled. I kept my mouth shut.

Anais was right -- this church was huge. We reached the second floor and faced a long stretch of corridor. This was going nowhere. I didn’t even know what this treasure look like. Lisette kept her spirit up and dashed forward, her hand still latched tight onto my wrist, of course.

Two third down the corridor, we began to hear noises. Laughter, to be exact, and they seemed to belong to children. It was coming from the room at the end of the hall, next to another set of staircase. Lisette and I quietly crept toward the room. I decided to keep my gun in the holster, but I know I’d never be too slow to draw if I needed it.

“…so this was how Daniel was saved from the lion’s den!” A sweet voice of a women said. “Now, who want to hear another story about Daniel?”

“Me!” “Me!” “Me!” The children responded enthusiastically.

We peeked into the room and saw a gentle looking nun, holding various story telling props " puppets, stuffed animals, statues. At the same time, hurried footsteps were heard running up the flight of stairs next to the children’s classroom.

((Sorry for any confusion.........I could have finished the story with the teddy and sporran being the powerful object but I'm new to this and I didn't know if it was my place to finish someone else's story..

I read it as a search for the Priceless Statuette of Bha Zhing Ze and the first one was just a clue to get to the proper real powerful statuette. And Ace asking Father Manfred for the statue also confirmed that theory for me.

And read on to find out more about how Fredo did it.

I hope this clears up my part of the story))

P.S Thankyou for the compliment Joseph.

Racing up the stairs with Anais in tow I spotted Joseph and Lisette peering into a classroom. I motioned for them to come away and we went a little further down the corridor.

"Anais has worked out what the treasure is and what it does" I told them. "She says it's a statue of a half man, half bird and it has both the power to kill and to bring life back."

When Anais had told me the clue and her suspicions about Fredo I finally remembered something. Working as the secretary for Father Manfred often meant I was there late and a few times I had seen Sister Margaretta walking in the cemetery late at night. Could she be related to Fredo? Did she really know how to use the statue's power?

"We need to get the statue but if she knows how to revive the dead maybe Sister Margaretta also knows how to use the other power of the Statue. What are we going to do?"

Suddenly Lisette turned on her heel and started draggin Joseph back down the hallway. "LISETTE!" Anais hissed "Where are you going?"

Lisette dragged Joseph into another room and Anais and I followed behind. Suddenly everything went black right in front of me. A cloth had been thrown over me. I struggled out of the covering to discover we were in a closet/changing room and there were nuns clothes on racks. Lisette was changing and she had thrown clothes at the rest of us.

After a few minutes, four nun's emerged from the closet. I was trailing behind trying not to laugh at Joseph dressed as a nun!

((So sorry! I thought that the whole time, we were looking for the statuette. Stupid me. Okay, then, yes. Lisette has one statuette, the other is what we're looking for. Sorry about that!

And, BTW Lolita, I don't think anyone's really sure how to end a story... that's mostly because these usually just die out. ;-) I can't post right now, but I will later. Just wanted to clear that up. ;-) BTW Great post Lolita. I'm so glad I wasn't there. :-)

((Wow, I ALWAYS wanted to dress as a nun. Thanks a million Lolita ;-( LOL Actually, a few of us participating in this post usually does end our story; this actually has been one of the longest we've wrote. Often we let the person who started the story to end it, but sometimes we do collaborate (like in one story in Shades, i died in the end so Vulk finished off what i started :P ) Anais was busy on a few cases, so when she gets back let's wrap this up. Okay, back to Sisters' Act...))

Ace and I were searching for the other half of the statue. We searched every room, but we didn't find it. We decided to find Joseph and Anais and the rest. When we passed the floor where Joseph and the rest were,we only saw 4 nuns. ''Bless you miss and bless you sir.'' the first nun said. I recognised that voice. ''Joseph?'' I asked?. ''WHAHAHAHA'' I said and I rolled over the floor, laughing. Ace was also grinning and so were the others. Joseph got a blush and told me this was the perfect disguise for in the church. I agreed with that, keeping my laugh inside my body.

When Ace and I wandered the other way, back the way we came,Joseph and the rest passed a door where an old nun was saying a prayer or something...

That strange figure the nun was holding, it looked exactly like what Anais described. The two parts clicked together and for a split second the statue glowed. The nun smiled to herself, then she turned her head and looked at us with questioning eyes. I pressed my luck. "Hm, Sister Margaretta?" I said in a high pitched voice, deciding to rid Lisette for good after this was all done. "Hm, Father Manfred is asking for you in the office." I remember what Ace told us when we met them at the hallway.

"I supposed you girls are new to the convent?" The nun questioned. We nodded. "Remember your manners." We curtsied, and noticed the children all had their heads drooped like zombies.

"Um, Sister, what is happening to the children?" Anais asked.

"I'm just doing a meditation excise with them. Two of you stay and look after them." Margaretta left the room with the figure in her hands. Anais genuinely cared about the children and stayed. Lisette grabbed my robe and pulled me into following the nun down the corridor. Th lady could walk quite fast for her age.

"Now that we're away from the children, let's drop all pretenses." Lisette barked. The nun stopped on her track, exhaled, and turned around. "This belongs to my family." Lisette reached for the statue. With a simple flick of her wrist, the nun pointed the chicken head at Lisette. There was no beam, no sound, nothing. Lisette simply dropped. I ran over to her. Something was wrong. She wasn't breathing. I checked her pulse. Nothing.

Lisette was dead.

What? This can't be true? I looked at my girl friend of two years sleeping on the floor like an angel, only that she would never wake up again. I wanted to take back every thought about wanting to dump her. I simply fell on my knees beside her, embracing her lifeless body.

"So, I guess Father Manfred wasn't looking for me." Margaretta said to me, Ace and Vulkie who were in the hallway. "Well, I don't need him anymore, and I supposed you have taken care of him for me. Now, I think I don't need to explain the consequence of following me." The nun turned around and disappeared down the stairs.

I stayed beside Lisette, oblivious to everything else.
