This thread is for game hints. Feel free to add anything you've figured out for yourself.

Hint-> Be careful who you accuse. 3 false accusations on your record will retire your detective. However, the Shady Character in the bar can help you clean up your record if you've made too many mistakes. It'll cost you though.

you need more than one of either physical or witness evidence to solve, also no alibi isn't as bad as a false one. lock picking is very useful!

Wondering if ... how peaceful or messy the crime scene is relates to how angry the killer was at the victim. Anyone else think this might be the case?

What an interesting idea, Sirgarr. I tried to test it today on 3 cases, but I didn't really reach a conclusion. What I got was:

Bloody scene: insanity, robbery.
Tidy scene: revenge.

So no clear anger pattern seems to emerge yet. However, one thing I did notice was that all suspects with rather trivial motives ('victim forgot birthday') turned out to have alibis in the bloody cases. And the same for insane suspects in the tidy case. This could be coincidence. (And I actually have to wonder if you'd EVER kill a person for forgetting your birthday...maybe the 'victim forgot birthday' suspects are innocent 99% of the time or something.) But I'm interested - I'll definitely look into this some more!

Haha I think it's often because the victim forgot a birthday *twice* in a row. How awful!!

Pay attention to the cut scenes. They may seem like just flavor and frivolity -- but I successfully used a cut scene on an Easy case to rule out a suspect I thought was guilty.

Oh - my mistake, sirgarr. *Twice* in a row! That changes the matter completely. Of course it's grounds for murder. Who wouldn't kill for two forgotten birthdays, let alone two *in a row* (gasp)? I feel so silly for getting this wrong...

Really, how did you use a cut scene? Blood, scarves -- I've seen both of these mean different things, I think.

I've discovered stress detection to be a big help, at least on the beginner level...lol..I usually have two questions left I want to ask them when it tells me they will answer one more question this lets me wait to decide which one I want to ask after I have interviewed more

This is the first time I've seen something like this, on Incredibly Hard -- "I searched her house and found a photograph that was apparently taken right after Jeffrey was murdered. Florence had apparently taken it herself. It showed her covered in blood and smiling, like she'd just recieved the best gift in the world. I recognised the photo from my dream, but could never explain how I knew I would find it."

Sirgarr, I've seen that before. That time it wasn't anywhere near Incredibly Hard. (Maybe Difficult or Really Hard.) I think it's rare but can appear on most levels.
