It is with huge regret and sadness that I must tell you all that Kas passed away yesterday morning.

Her heart stopped and she was only 56. She will be buried in Vancouver in the next few days by her grieving family.

For those of you who didn't know her very well, she was the kindest and sweetest woman you are likely to meet and Hunters won't be the same without her. She loved Sleuth and our community has lost a truly important member.

I may keep on her avatar in rememberance.

If you have any messages for her family then please post them and I shall pass them on.

I'm still speechless and it will take some time to sink in.

I thank you all for taking the time to read this.

Wow!!! This was something I didn't expect to see. I didn't know Kas, I only talked to her one time through out my whole time here at Sleuth but just from that short conversation, she seemed very nice, and sweeet!

I am very VERY sorry to hear of this! May God Bless her family, and all who were close to her.

I agree. This is a very big loss to all of us. I've only ever had a few brief interactions with Kas, but I was always struck by her kindness and positive personality.

Those of you who were lucky enough to be close to her have my sincere condolences.

This is Acemaster.

When I saw the thread "A terribly sad announcement", I expected that somebody was leaving the game or something like that. I never expected to see that my director had just died! This truly is terribly sad, and what makes it worse is that she really was just as nice a person as we've all said. She will be very missed.

D*mn, I'm still shocked and I saw it this morning... perhaps we should make her character a memorial...

I wish I had the right words to say. Kas was a wonderful, quiet, bright, funny woman who always had a smile for everyone, even when she didn't feel that well. I wish I had her strength and courage. She will be deeply missed here, and I'm sorry that some of you never got the chance to know her. She was truly special.

To her family and friends, I'm deeply sorry for your loss. She will be sadly missed here. My thoughts and prayers are with you. We have lost a wonderful part of this family.

My deepest sympathies,

Breit

I have asked Kathi's sister for the address of the funeral so I can send some flowers from the Sleuth community.

A few people have already very kindly offered to chip in, so I will be posting a paypal account for anyone who wishes to contribute. Please don't feel obliged; it's perfectly OK if you can't and I will be sending it regardless. Any contributions will go to increasing the size of the bunch!

I shall get back to you as soon as I get an address.

Also many thanks for all the kind words you have all sent on this posting. Kathi's family all know that Sleuth was a big part of her life and I'm sure it will be of some comfort to know that she was so well liked and valued.

Thank you all.
