What are the names of all the factions on Sleuth Noir, and what is their info?

PrairieDuck,

Factions are organizations that you can align yourself with in order to obtain special skills they offer.

Currenty there are 3 available to you in NY. As to what skills they offer and where, it's best if you do some exploring on your own in NY to find out where they are and what they do. Also, try searching some agency websites...who knows they might have some info for you.

But really half of the fun of the game is exploring and finding things out on your own.

Good luck and happy hunting!

I believe to join a faction, all you need to do is solve a case that has a positive value to that faction. (A case may have a positive value for a faction; a lady with an magnifying glass will come up on the twist page.) When this does happen, another faction will have a negative value.

So long as you have a positive value for any faction, you can increase your standing by doing cases for them, quitting cases that are negative for them, and doing 'little jobs' at their headquarters.

As for where they are, you have to hunt around a little (i.e. two of them are NOT at the normal townie hangouts so you have to search for them a little).

That's all the basic info I have about them. If you have any questions, email one of the veterans around here. They know EVERYTHING!!

Good luck!

I see you are in good with Cosa Nostra and I will tell you right now that the special skill they can teach you is of no use to you at this point in the game

um, Valet, did anyone ever tell you you really know how to deflate the balloon of enthusiasm? Ms. Prairie Chicken, just because one of the skills is not of particular use at the present does not mean that ALL of them are of no use. So please, go exploring, find out what the others do and where they are, and above all, enjoy exploring the game!

I agree all skills are eventually important but I remember wasting a lot of skill points early when they are fairly easy to get on useless skills and then having problems getting the skills I really need cuz it takes much longer to get skill points later on. it can be very depressing
